Ok so I chose my linen colors to be ivory TC's and purple napkins
(my colors are deep purple, black, silver)
Now Im wondering if I should do a purple tc and then a black napkin or ivory...something idk my brain is burning someone help!
What do you think?

Ivory on Ivory and this is just my opinion. But I feel like when I see colored napkins or table cloths it looks prom ish ...again JMO

i voted for ivory table cloth and black napkin...bc that is what we are having and I have the same colors
we also are adding black satin table runners

I personally like colored linens. I think it makes it different from everyone elses wedding. You have to go with what you feel is you. I refused to have a white on white wedding but that was me some people like the all white. I got the runner idea from 2010 girl and purchased the exact colors i wanted.

Which of those colors are the dominant colors vs. accent colors for the rest of the wedding? I think a burst of color for the TC would be a good idea.

this may not be an option but if i were to do a colored table cloth i would do the napkin to match. so purple on purple. but i happen to be very big on things matching

My colors are shades of purple, silver/gunmetal and a little ivory. So for linens we chose Gray TC with alternating tables of lavender and purple napkins. And the linens under the TC (I forget what it's called) are ivory.
We are having flowers in shades of purple and I wanted the more neutral color as the TC so the flowers would pop.
Maybe you can do a gray TC with alternating tables of purple and black napkins? That way the dark colors are more of an accent and not to overwhelming.

What if you did ivory on ivory and then accented the rest of the table with purple items....like candle holders, table number holders or frames, candles, flowers or petals....this way you still get the color scheme without the prom-ish feel you want to avoid.

i'm all about color, and matching themes whenever possible, so I'd do a purple tc with ivory napkins
