Help: Looking for a resonably priced Mansion for my 2009 wedding.

Hi Everyone,
I need your help in finding a mansion for my 2009 wedding. I'm looking for something with an old world elegance & Charm. I'm also flexible, and hoping to find something for late May, summer or early Fall in the $100-110 price range.

Any ideas?

I don't meant to be a downer, but realistically, there's not much out there for you. Mansions typically charge a hefty site fee (3k and higher), and the time of year you're looking at is prime, and the price per person will be higher than $150. There's plenty of beautiful halls out there, so I hope you find something that suits your needs

Brides Helping Brides would be a better place for this question because a lot more brides can give you info on there!

But, I would like to recommend thinking outside of the box. Try looking around LI (or other places) for sites that aren't typically catering halls but may have the feel you are going for. Then, bring in your own caterer.

For example, my parents live on a historic block and there is a mansion there that does some private charity events every once in a while.

Ask everyone you know and like you already did, post about it! Someone might be able to come up with something!

You also might consider renting a house on Eastern LI and catering there. You could definitely find something with the look you are going for, bring in a caterer, and even have a honeymoon built in :)

Try the Woodlands in Woodbury... The price is a bit more than your budget, but if you are flexible with the time of the year, you might be able to get close to your target plus tax and tip. We had our wedding there and it was AMAZING!!!

Yeah for the woodlands! I think if you are a little flexible with your dates (e.g., more early spring/late fall) and times (friday or sunday) you should be able to find something in that range. We had trouble booking last october, however, so availability might limit you if you are looking for 2009, esp prime time. Try getting a wedding reception magazine. Some possibilities might be Gatsby, Coindre Hall and any of the lessings properties.

Check out the Lessings Mansion called the Bourne Mansion. :)
