HELP: Looking for a resonably priced Mansion for my 2009 wedding.
Hi Everyone, I need your help in finding a mansion for my 2009 wedding. I'm looking for something with an old world elegance & Charm. I'm also flexible, and hoping to find something for late May, summer or early Fall in the $100-110 price range.
Any ideas?

Thanks. I've seen the Gatsby when driving by but have never been inside. I'll look into it.

Have you checked into the Bourne Mansion? I am getting married there July of 2009. I think it's magnificent!

The Vanderbuilt Mansion at Dowling had some really good prices. We also looked at Deserverskys... absolutely beautiful but more on the pricier side. We decided on the Woodlands... I fell in love with it, the minute I walkied in. and the price was within our limits.

How many guests are you expecting? i found with over 175 (closer to 210 now) I couldn't get a mansion/vintage style RH within that price range...

Try contacting Lessings...they work with a bunch of mansions on the island.

I have a small number of guest, roughly about 110, so I can at least guarantee 100. The problem is finding the right place for the price I'm looking for. You might do well with The Glen Cove Mansion (perhaps a tented reception), but I think they are about $150 pp.

I've been to both the Riviera and Bourne Mansion in the last year, and looved them both, I did like the scenery at Riviera a little better, but they were both beautiful. HTH

Definitely check out the Strathmore Vanderbilt Country Club. The pics on the site are amazing, and it's a legit castle. Donald is the BM, and he is MORE than helpful. And I think it's right in your price range.
I almost booked the Riviera, but wasn't a fan of the food. It's a bit Chalet-like, and I think the most beautiful place I have seen yet (I haven't seen the Strathmore yet- Monday!). The ladies there were wonderful (the owner- not so much- google it!), the place was breathtaking. But I just couldn't get past the food. In all fairness, I have heard many raves about it, so maybe it was just me. I would LOVE to go to a wedding there.
