Help! Makeup Advice w/Poll.

Help! Makeup Advice w/Poll.

So...when I originally booked makeup I said it would be for me plus 4 or 5 other women (BMs and mothers).

Since then over the last few months, I've casually mentioned it to other BMs plus my brother's wife and so many people have jumped on board, we're up to 9 girls.

My ceremony is at 3pm, but my makeup artist says to do all those girls and be ready for the photog around 1 she'd have to start around 6am. It just seems crazy to be getting your makeup done at 6am for a 3pm ceremony. Also, the girls who jumped on the bandwagon later in time can't go until a more reasonable hour b/c they are getting their hair done at times like 10am and 11am. So I have to inconvenience my girls who have been on board since day 1 by asking them to go absurdly early.

So...should I just suck it up and go for it? Tell the girls that jumped in later (esp my bro's wife who isn't even in the BP) that I am so sorry but I miscalculated? Or try to hire a 2nd MU artist with 11 days to go (HAAAA - impossible)? And if you think I should hire someone else - any recommendations???

TIA!

I think you should tell the ones who jumped on board late that since your BMs and whoever else booked earlier, the newbies are the ones who have to get their makeup done early. If they can't, they will have to get it done someplace else. A lot of salons have makeup people - maybe they can get it done after their hair if they are already going to salons?

You can also ...
- ask your makeup girl if she has an assistant or someone who she can bring to help?
- go to mac or some of the makeup counters at macys, bloomies, etc and see if anyone's free?

I'd either try to find another makeup artist, but don't make yourself crazy over it, or tell the girls who hopped on the bandwagon late that the make up artist can't accomodate them all.
Don't inconveniece yourself for the sake of everyone else - its your day.

for my friends wedding last year, we had to be at the salon at 6am to get our hair done for 11 pictures before the wedding...and there was 6 of us (including her and the MOB) with 4 stylists and it took forever! just go for it...better to have extra time then be running late!

You guys are right...I should tell the latecomers that if they can adjust their schedule to come early, then they are welcome. If not, oh well - sorry.

Jacqueline Nicole did recommend someone but we attempted to get her to help and she was unfortunately busy that day (not even w/makeup).

Have you asked your make up artist if there is another person she can bring with her so they can do two people's make up at a time. Usually there is another person they know. If not tell the last ones who want services they have to there the earliest and if they do not want to then they have to make alternate arrangements.

I picked other. I would say maybe try to book a 2nd makeup artist - but don't go crazy or frantic over it. Maybe ask your makeup person if she has someone she recommends. If you have no luck, then I'd tell the extra people that you're sorry but the makeup people just can't do them all.

Find a second m/u artist. It won't be hard - there are SO many. I recommend Jennifer Ann Cosmetics, she's out of Cactus in Plainview. Awesome.

Stacey Lacy is a m/u artist too.
