ok, you have a little over 7 motnhs. That's entirely possible. SOem one else here is palnning a JUly weddign & jsut started 7 motnhs ahead. I'm also gettign maried this October, and we have only booked the hall & church & I have ordered my dress & bought shoes.
So, really you are not that far behind .I am finding that photographers & hotels are booked though, so you'll have to move quickly.
What are you looking for? Just a reception, or a ceremony too? About how many people?
You will probably have to have it somewhere with more that one wedding, but you can do it. A hotel might be a really good idea. What price range are you looking for? What area? What day of the week?

Try George Washington Manor, Swan Club, New Hyde Park Inn, Milleridge Inn, they call can have more than one event, and can handle small to large weddings. They all quoted me around $80pp (including tax & tip) and that was for a May wedding, being it's an off month you might get it for cheaper.
You can also try The Coral House, in inside is very nice, but the area around the place is so-so.
All the places I mentioned are in Nassau County, and have websites. I've been to see all of them, so FM if you have any questions.
For your dress, Try Lillettes in Baldwin. They are great, give lots of personal attention, and if there is anything they can do to help, you get the feeling they will do it :)
Hey you might also get discounts, because you booking a closer date, so don't worry, just tackle one thing at a time, and it will all get done.

I agree, it's a little bit of a crunch, but toally do-able. Just stay organized, you'll get it done!

Try Sunset Harbour in East Patchogue... this is totally doable!! You can't tell me that every hall on LI has every fri, sat, & sun in Oct booked!! Or every other vendor!!! Just make a game plan for yourself, stay focused and organized and you'll do great!! Good luck!

Don't worry at all- we booked in January for this June- its been really hectic, but we focus on one thing at a time, and frankly, it seems ti work to our advantage. We got a big dicount at our hall- the Chateau La Mer, which I love- and most of the other vendors as well. Pretty much if they haven't booked anyone yet, they won't be, so they offer discounts. We are negotiating with a band right now.
Try Chateau la Mer, Fox Hollow, Riviera, East Wind, Vineyard Caterers. Also, go to Newsday.com, and on the right they have the Weddings of Distinction box, which has a huge chart of most of the catering halls on LI.

It's totally doable. We will only be engaged 7 months by the time the wedding comes...I found no problems booking vendors. First thing you have to do it book a hall...how many people? Nassau? Suffolk? Do you have a church...or having the ceremony at the hall?
