HELP ME - Addressing

HELP ME - Addressing

So I am typing out my addresses and I have no idea what I am doing. Some questions:

If they live at an apartment is it:

Mr and Mrs. John Smith
Apartment Three
5 Maple Avenue

or

5 Maple Avenue - Apartment Three

or something else

If a woman was divorced and kept the divorced name, is she a Mrs. or Ms.?

Did you write out street numbers (I thought I read this somewhere for numbers under nine)

Mr. John Smith
5 Maple Avenue

Mr. John Smith
Five Maple Avenue

what if the person is not married, not living with someone, has children (invited), and is getting a guest - on the inner envelope is it:

Mr. Smith and Guest and Family (seems lengthy?)

That is all I can think of. Thank you :)

Re: HELP ME - Addressing

We did:

Mr and Mrs. John Smith
5 Maple Avenue
Apartment 3

We didn't write out house numbers

'what if the person is not married, not living with someone, has children (invited), and is getting a guest'

Mr. Smith and Guest
Johnny and Suzie Smith

Edited to change 'Three' to '3'

Not sure if this is completely right but this is my take on it:

Apartments can be addressed two ways:

5 Maple Drive, Apartment 3

OR

5 Maple Drive
Apartment 3

(I don't think you need to write out the numbers)

If the woman is divorced, I would use 'Ms.', even if she kept the divorced name.

I'm confused on the family one: who is getting the guest, or is it the person living with them?

Re: HELP ME - Addressing

For the 1st one I would do:
5 Maple Avenue
Apt. 3

If a woman was divorced and kept the divorced name, is she a Mrs. or Ms.?

Ms.

No, I didn't write out any street numbers.

For the last one I would do:
Mr. Smith and Guest
and then list the children's names

HTH!!

Re: HELP ME - Addressing

Thanks so much!

THe guest one is on FH's side and everyone is giving us different names for the kids - so I was gonna write and Family unless I can get some consensus. But I think it would sound better if I can get their names on there.

Thanks
