I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to have an evening wedding, but prices are higher. Here are my choices. If we do the Bridgeview Yacht Club or Swan Club we can do Saturday evening, or we can do Westbury Manor Saturday from 1-6 (and cannot get married in my church). Obviously WM is gorgeous and that is what it has going for it, but I really want a night wedding and I dont have a 225 min guarantee to do the party there. I love the water and grew up at the beach thats why I am drawn to BYC and the SC has great gardens, but I am afraid that they are just a place that will be a get them in, get them out, wedding place.
Please HELP!
Thanks, Kristen

Re: Help me chose reception hall!!!!
I think you should do the BYC. You don't have the minimum for WM and you want an evening wedding. Also, you said that you love the water! I think you should choose BYC! Good luck and keep us posted!

I checked out BYC b/c I wanted something on the water also. It was nice, but not my style. I know that BYC has a club that they use on Sat nights, but I'm not sure what time of year... def something to ask about before you book there. I saw a few LIW bride's proofs from Swan Club, and the place looks stunning.

I would choose Bridgeview also. My family had a party there last year and the food, service, and atmosphere were all great.

Re: Help me chose reception hall!!!!
i never went to bridgview but went to the swan club. Gardens are amazing and cocktail was great but wasn't impressed with everything else for the price i have heard they charge. This is not bashing of the place or i hate the place just wasn't blow over with it for that particular wedding. I have hear MANY good things on bridgeview.

I voted Wm only cause I am having my wedding there and I think it's beautiful!!! But you shold do what you want and what you can afford.
My opinion out of all three...I love Westbury Manor...Good food and beautiful decor!

Re: Help me chose reception hall!!!!
I checked out Westbury Manor and Swan Club, and while the are both beautiful, Swan Club won me over. It has beautiful grounds and the rooms for the ceremony and party have sweeping views of the gardens.
Why in the world would you think that Swan Club and Bridgeview Yacht Club are 'get you in, get you out' places. I never got that impression.
Anyway, I vote for Swan Club. WM is way overpriced!

Re: Help me chose reception hall!!!!
Thank you all for your honest opinions. I am obviously all for BYC and the FH is for the other two because he thinks the gardens are great...but for me a day wedding would make me too crazy in the morning and wouldnt have as much time to enjoy myself during our reception. I appreciate all of your opinions. Happy Planning!
You ladies are great!

Re: Help me chose reception hall!!!!
I chose Westbury Manor because that is where I am having my reception!!! But I understand that you want to be on the water. I assume that you are in Nassau County but did you check out the Venetian Yacht Club in babylon (i think) I have been to a wedding there at it was really nice.
Depending on how much you want to spend and where you want to be there are many places. I love Atlantica in Southampton but that may be to far for you! Its classy and on the water!

Re: Help me chose reception hall!!!!
Yeah I looked at VYC. I liked it...my mom didn't and the thing we both didnt like about it was that the CH starts at 730 and goes til 9 and the reception is from 9-1. 1 isnt late for me, but for grandpa and aunt tessie, its a bit too late to ask them to wait til 930 for dinner. I just dont want to get back to my hotel at 2 -230am! Otherwise, it was a great place (and its $30 more/person then BYC)
I would love to go out east but my fiances parents and family are all south shore nassau county people like my family so I dont want EVERYONE to travel like crazy. They arent hotel people either.
