Yes. We want to go get our marriage license, and I want to get to the Mikasa outlet to exchange a box of broken plates I got, and I have my hair trial at 6:00. I'll never make it if I work, because I am a slave here and I won't get out on time.
No one should have to work while planning a wedding.

I think you should tell them you need to take a personal day but would like to charge it as sick time. (Depends how cool you are with the HR person).
