Hi! We're just moving in to a new apt. it's a basement and sort of blah. I want to make some kind of crafts to brightn it up. The two things I was thinking were somekind of welcome thing to hang on the door and like a boys/girls room sign for the bathroom. I was saying how I always forget which door is the bathroom (it's right next to a closet) and FH joked that we should out up a sign. I thought it would be cute to put up a little boy and girl or something? I know I'm being vague..any ideas?

I came from a BSMT apt and know what you mean. I did ALOT of shopping at Marshalls, MIcheals , gargage sales.. Basically things that POP is what I got. Especially things with scents.. Bsmts are sometimes muggy. But dont let that stop you.
First Have some planted potted plants as you walk into your door. The color and smell will make you smile. Hang a nice wreath..
Curtains, Curtains Curtains... The make a room. For your kitchen use bright vibrant colors like yellow and get table cloths , towels to match. I also felt that mirrors made the place look bigger. Micheals has really big ones like 42 x 40 for like $25.00 (with a coupon).
Those are good starters but I recommed you shop around for deals, this way you can get more for your buck.. Happy Decor!
