FH and I went to meet with a lady that does invitations on Friday. We picked out these 5x7 pocketfold invitations that had the staggered height enclosure cards for RSVP, accomodations, directions and reception. We loved them. Then we got the price quote back and with printing and assembly the cost is about $1500 for the 225 invitations we need to order, which is more than we anticipated spending on invites. (we were figuring 1g)
I searched on line and found these invitations which we can get for half the cost of the pocketfold ones. lily border invites I think these are nice, but to me they don't seem as impressive as the pocketfold ones. I think I'm caught up on the novelty of the pockets.
What would you do...the fancy pricey invites or the plainer half the price invites?

you don't seem to like the Lily border ones very much....maybe you can look more and find something unique you will like (or DIY pocketfolds to save money?)

Unfortunately the DIY pocketfolds that I have found so far are just as much as the quote the lady we went to see gave us. Bummer!
There has to be something out there that I like...I am continuing to search some more.

i'm going to be honest...people are going to throw away your invitation....once they get it, rsvp & attend the wedding - it's going in the trash...
I understand the want for amazing, incredible invites....but i'd go with the more economical option personally.....

You can get those online at costco.com for even less than on einvite.com. Costco has a pretty big selection.

I would definitely try to find a happy medium but it is true, they will throw out the invite no matter how gorgeous it is. I would go with the less expensive choice if you can't find a compromise.

I was in a similar situation. I really wanted pocketfolds but it didnt seem realistic and I was going to sacrifice and get ones that I wasnt crazy about. I ended up changing my mind and going with the pocketfolds. I spent 400 dollars over my budget but Im so happy with my invites.

Agreed. You're going to get different answers from everyone. IMO, I don't think it's necessary to spend that much on invites, but that's me. You do what you like for your wedding that makes you happy!

You might ask the woman that does the pocketfolds if you can assembly them yourself and save some money. You just need to get a good double stick tape gun, some friends and some wine.
I am getting my pocketfolds from a friend and he is teaching me how to assembly.
Just an idea!

I would never spend more then $500 on invites and I didn't even go near that amount. WAY Too much money for something someone will throw out.
