Today is FH's bday, and we are going to see Rent. Does anyone know of any good restaurants we can go to before the show that are in the theater district and not too expensive?

Rachel's!!!! It is on 9th Ave. between 43rd and 44th (It might be 44th and 45th). The food is great and it is really reasonably priced. You can get apps, entree and a bottle of wine for under $80.

I was looking for something similar right around Valentines Day, and someone pointed me in the direction of Tony's DiNapoli in Times Square.
It's a nice night, maybe you guys will enjoy a little walk to the theatre?!
The place was GREAT italian food- inexpensive, but not commercial (I thought it would be, it's TIMES SQUARE for chrissakes)
It's on 43rd, between 6th & 7th, and I think Rent is on 41st. Not too bad!!!
Ruby Foos is great if you like eclectic aisan food

I second RACHEL'S - it's not a tourist trap, the food is great, and atmosphere cozy and nice.
Also on 9th avenue - Cara Mia (affordable Italian) Hell's Kitchen (trendy Mexican) Cascina (Homestyle Italian)
Have fun!
