I went dress shopping in NJ today and the store would not tell me the name of any designers. Very annoying because I want to show a picture of it to my family (and see if I can get it cheaper anywhere else!)
So, I need your help...The dress I liked is strapless and has horizontal 'piping' in satin on the top. The bottom is organza and a-line. It is similar to a Paula Varsalona gown (PV 6701) (Pictured below) except the one I saw had tiny pearl beading.
I wish I could help you find it, but I haven't seen anything like that. However, I wouldn't purchase from a salon that refuses to tell you the designer - it's illegal and it also means that they have some pretty dishonest business practices. Good luck finding it!
ETA: If you have the name of the salon, you may be able to check out their website, if they have one, and see what lines they carry (they usually list it somewhere on their site) and try from there.

Re: Help me find the manufacturer of this dress
I agree Jannshari...I know it is illegal and I won't buy from there. I already checked the websites of the designers they list. So far....no luck! :(

Rivini seems to have a dress like that, but I'm not certain.

Re: Help me find the manufacturer of this dress
Here is a similar dress by Rivini, but I'm not sure if it's exactly the same...
Thanks JVS! ....That looks to be very close to the dress I tried on. It is slightly different but I will check out.
Thanks again! You ladies are the best!!

It really looks like a dress from Ian Staurt. Check out his website and see if it's the same one. http://www.ianstuart.com/collection.html

Re: Help me find the manufacturer of this dress
MINDY!!! I just checked out the Ian Stuart site - I THINK YOU FOUND IT!!! Is this the one you meant!?
Description:
Style 9859 Fabrication: Satin Japanese organza Crystals Colors: White & Ivory *Certain colors may not be available in certain countries. Please check with your dealer.
Sizes: 4-20
Strapless 'A' line gown has a pleated satin bodice...scattered with crystals. The skirt has a Japanese organza overlay with a satin ribbon hem...matching wrap is available with this style.
I recognized it because I actually tried it on in RK Bridal. It was very very pretty!!! It fit me so well and is very classic and elegant! Check with them on the prices- I can't remember what they charged for it but RK Bridal is known to be reasonably priced and they will match any lower price quote that you get if you do their 'no-frills' policy. Regardless- check it out there if you can. You do know that it is illegal for a bridal salon not to disclose the name of the designer, right? If they are doing that- they may not be an authroized dealer of the dress.

Re: Help me find the manufacturer of this dress
Thanks Mindy! I love this dress! I work right near RK Bridal so I am going to stop by tomorrow to check out prices.
I am so glad I found this dress. I was thisclose to buying a dress for close to $4G from Bridal Reflections. But, I think the Ian Stuart is unde $1G and I actually like it more!!

Re: Help me find the manufacturer of this dress
My pleasure... glad to help!
I was actually just going through some old things in my wedding folder and found my quote from RK Bridal on this dress- it is style #9859 and they charge $950 for it.
Oh- and the woman I worked with at RK was Olga and she was excellent!
I tried it on in August so they probably still have it. Good luck!

Re: Help me find the manufacturer of this dress
one more thing- I just bought my gown last week from the Paula Varsalona sample sale. I saw that they had a few of dresses with this design at excellent prices! It was a one day sale but I think they have them a few times a year so it may be worth checking out if you're interested! If you're interested in looking at her dresses, call her salon in the city. It's on Madison Avenue between between 65th and 66th. The woman who works there is named Jude and she is so sweet and amazing!
