I really appreciate when donation is made to a charity/cause that is important to the bride & groom.
I also liked the wine glasses I got at one wedding.

And since they are not pricey, she did one per person. And some love quote and then their names and date.

AAAAND (while we are talking about discount mugs) for my engagement party we did these awesome mugs that come with a little spoon that sits in the handle of the mug. And i put little backs of hot chocolate mix in them. And obviously they had our names and date. Seriously, they were a HUG hit. And you are early March so it would be prefect. And you can buy personalized little coffee packs or hot chocolate packs.

almost all of my friends weddings we have ever been to it has been a donation and I love that.
We are going to do wine bottles per couple, LIEB vineyards has a wine called mission merlot. it is $9.11 and all of the proceeds go towards FDNY 9/11 widows fund. Being as FH is a fireman We couldnt have asked for a more perfect favor as its a donation and still something that people can take hom. Plus the label hs a large heart colored in w the american flag and its really pretty

i dont even remember favors. oh my cousin put all her escort cards in little castle pewter frames. her wedding was at oheka. they're cute.
um.....really i have no memory.

I loved my brother's wedding favors and it's something I use all the time and it was so cute!
They got these coffee mugs that look like the cups you get at a diner (like the ones below) and then got personalized Coffee in a pouch to put inside that said..
'Jaime and Michael The best NY Blend'
Drank the coffee (delish) and me and my family always use our mugs! ' It's practical and it's a way to add personalization. They just wrapped them up in nice bags with ribbon.
I'ma have to disagree with alicia, I do notttt want peoples names on my ....candles for example cause thats a surefire way for me not to use them haha, yea the best thing I ever got were votive candles, they were pretty and reusable and you could put them anywhere. But if they had your name and date on them, personally i'd stuff em in a drawer or throw them out, I know most of my family agrees on that. Side note -I am probably doing a chocolate truffle, Id rather have a little yummy goody than something i stuff in a drawer!

The best favor I have ever gotten was edible for sure!
We are doing two different donations to charities that mean the most to us as a couple. Sorry I am not more help A!

1- in all cases, I would ALWAYS want something YUMMY!!!
2- i think that maybe you are right to a certian degree- there are things that is just wierd to have some one elses names on...I think they only things I have gotten like that are like mugs and pint glasses....which it kinda doesn't matter that their are names on it? But like...giving the guests a bath towel with your names on it...lol...not the best idea....
3- i just want to reiterate my love of all things yummy.

the truffle idea- my friend did that and she ordered big trays of them and we put two different flavors in each back with great little tags...
and i got to eat the leftovers...AWESOME!!!

Fh got the pint glasses with stick figures and our names and date on it when he was doing all the planning and i could care less... i now hate it because of the above reason lol but i figured out it washed off with hot water and the rough part of a sponge .... would it be weird to put like a little card in there saying it washes off if you dont want it there?!?!?

My cousin gave coasters like the ones you posted earlier, but the ones with snowflakes on them...I actually love them, I had her give me a couple extra sets. On the other hand, my sister said she already has a million of those and doesn't need more.
