MOH just told me about my planned BP and asked if I wanted to invite anyone besides the Bridal party. I do and I don't....I do b/c the more the merrier, and I don't b/c people just happen to turn unreliable at the last minute (pulling out) and don't want anyone to suffer b/c of that.
What do you think?
It's going to be a Saturday into Sunday - Atlantic City.

Re: Help me out - Bachelorette Party
If you have close friends or relatives that you want to hang out with and know you would have a good time, I say invite them. I foyu know that someone is going to cause drama and be unreliable, I say leave them out!!
I have a friend o fmine who is going to my Bachelorette party and she isnt in the Bridal party!!

Re: Help me out - Bachelorette Party
I would invite others but let them know they have to make their hotel reservation by a certain date otherwise they can't go.
Most likely if they have to put $$ down, they won't back out.

I say invite who you want, but don't count on them coming. Make your plans with the bp and let others know what you're doing. If they want to come, then they have to book by whatever date.

Christine....
I totally understand why you wouldn't want to invite too many people. I say that you should invite your closest friends. Whoever comes, comes, but make sure they know that if they back out, they are screwing everyone over, so they have to be 100% sure.
Have each girl put a $$$ down, so If they back out, that is their problem.
I was going through the same thing when my friend coordinated my bach party in Miami. She told everyone who wanted to come that the money was due on a certain date (to secure the airfare) You cant really control other peoples actions.
Lots of luch Christine

Re: Help me out - Bachelorette Party
It depends what time of time you want to have. I had mine this past weekend and we kept it very mellow. (Me, FMIL, my mom, FSIL & 2 friends.)
We went to Toast in Pt Jeff for fondue and hung out at a college dive bar in Stony Brook. FH on the other hand went with 20 people in a stretch escalade limo to the city to strip bars.
It should be to your personality and how you think youd have the best time.
Good Luck!

Re: Help me out - Bachelorette Party
I would invite whoever, and if they come great, and if not - oh well. However, b/c it will be in AC make sure that all people outside BP know how much they are expected to contribute to hotel etc, and that they pay in advance.

Re: Help me out - Bachelorette Party
I would just invite BP and very close friends and family. All the others will be invited to the Bridal Shower.
I know the more the merrier BUT that can also cause headaches when you have too many people to accomodate and/or entertain. Sometimes, less is more.

Re: Help me out - Bachelorette Party
My mom is hosting a special two nights (three for just me and her) in her NYC timeshare with nights out on the town for me, her, my two sisters and sis in law.
Then, I am planning (yes, planning my own BP) a weekend at Fire Island. Our boat and my mom's will be there from Thursday to Sunday. I will send out invites to friends, cousins and knotties (oops... did I say that here!?) and whomever can come one day, night, stay over, bring their own boat... whatever... just a few mellow days on the beach and some nice dinners at OB and of course some bar hopping with whomever comes along! I will be the only constant (ummm... do you need more!?).
We are in the discussion phase as to just do a co-ed thing and the guys can go fishing during the day, the girls can lay out and we all can go our own way at night too. It could prove to have a bigger turn out because we have lots of friends and family with boats so it would be easier and fun for them all to come out together and anchor out.
Oh wait... was this a post about your BP or mine!?!?! Bwahahahahahahaha!!! I'm such a whooah!!!!
So yeah.... I would do your group booking with your definites... then just give everyone else the hotel info and let them set up their own rooming situation. That way they are responsible for their own pullouts. Take care of yer butt!!!!

Re: Help me out - Bachelorette Party
we had the best time in AC for my best friends bach party. we stayed at tropicana (the quarter) it was hysterical. they have an awesome karaoke bar, great dance club, hooters and bars galore. No matter who goes, u will have a great time if you guys go to the trop. we had 5 girls and it was the perfect number. 2 in bridal party, 2 not. overnite trips are hard to get ALOT of girls to go, but those that are willing to spend the extra dough are sure to make it an extra special time for you!! Have a fantastic time!!! everyone at that casino/hotel will be so excited for u!! its just a very friendly place!!

I think it's nice to invite friends who aren't in the BP. I have a lot of good friends who couldn't be in the BP (too many people!), but I really wanted them to be invited to the bach. party. The more the merrier, I say! If you're worried about people backing out, have someone collect room $$ from everyone and reserve the hotels and anyone who can't pay then is on their own to make a reservation, that way nobody gets screwed by having to pay more because people backed out.
I agree!
