I don't think I'd use an ornament unless it was one without any names or anything on it. I love the hot chocolate in a jar idea.

I love the ornament idea!! FH's has a ton of ornaments from places he visited, and when they were born, I think it's interesting to have a tree with different ornaments.

I love the ornament idea!!! I don't have any generic ornaments on my tree, they're all from my childhood, things I've collected over the years, etc. Such a unique idea. I love it!!

I love the ornament idea but what if you have people who are of another religion that don't celebrate Christmas or have a tree. You know your guests though

I really like the ornament idea! As mentioned before not everyone will celebrate christmas so I would suggest doing something that is just wintery (I know plenty of Jews that have a hanukah bush and would definitely use the ornament!)

I'm biased as we are doing the hot chocolate mason jars as favors but either is a great one in my opinion :) ... I do like the unique aspect of the ornament though

I'm getting married the week after you! The ornaments is a great idea but yeah I guess maybe that wouldn't work because of the people who are Jewish. One thing we r doing is ornaments as a guest sign in. When the guests arrive there will be ornaments placed in a glass bowl on a table. The guests will be asked to sign and write a little message on an ornament. Saw it on Pinterest. Then every year you can switch up different ornaments to put on your Christmas tree! Also, you can do ornaments for tables seatings. Also on Pinterest (gotta love that website) we bought these snowflake ornaments that are also photo holders which we are using for place seatings. They're flat on the bottom. But being they have snowflakes it's wintery and it's also a photo holder I think it'll be good for people who are Jewish too. It's easier to explain if I show a picture lol.
