Ok, so I think my MOH & I agrre on a dress, but it only comes in 2 colors. Victorian lilac & clay. I like the clay, because I can them do orangy flowers for fall. She is afraid the she will look too washed out int hat color & my mom agrees & thinks its to blah. my Moh did see the lilac- they didn't have it in her David's.
If I go with that, I don't know what color flowers to go with for a fall wedding.
If you vote for the lilac, please offer flower suggestion if you got any. Thanks. Here is the dress, the first is the lilac color in a different dress. ( the one on the right) the second is the actual dress we are considering.
I voted for clay since you want to have fall themed flowers. I dont think that lilac will go with fall theme at all. Plus the clay wont look so blah once you put it together with the flowers.

I like the clay- if that is the second color...
but if you end up with lilac then I think some orangy flowers will look nice with that color too- purple and orange look nice together.
I dont have any other suggestions right now....I'll think about it...

That's what I was thinking, but that will help for pictures, but they won't have the flowers with them all night.
Yes, the second picture is the dress & it is the caly color.
I don't think I'd like the way orange looked with purple. I think deep purple is the only was to go, but I'm not sure if that's fall enough.

I chose lilac. IMO clay is too light next to your wedding gown. I would want to stand out next to my BMs. You would stand out more with a darker color than a light. I originally chose champagne for my BM gowns, but decided against it. JMO!!! As for flowers, I can't help you there. I still haven't decided what I want. I'm not floral savvy at all.

Orange and yellow flowers would like fine with the lilac. Are dahlias still available in early October? Those would look gorgeous!

I looked at your wedding dress in your profile, and it looks pure white? The clay colored dress will not look good next to white. If your dress was ivory they would look softer and richer in color.
I got married last Oct 5th. By luck it rained alot last year and the grass was still green. My girls wore platinum/silver dresses and they contrasted against the green grass. If we have a hot summer the grass may be turning yellow by that time, and the clay will kinda blend into to it.
If you do with the lilac, is your heart set on a fall colored wedding? I used of mixture of different flowers which consisted of all cream, green and a touch of white flowers for the table centerepiecs (simple and elegant). My dress was ivory and the girls had burgandy/wine miniture calla lillies and they stood out against their dresses. However, you can do their flowers with a mix pale orange with burgandy flowers if that is the look you are trying to achive. I think you need contrast against your dress. The clay is a great color for summer and girl with tans, otherwise they may look pale and washed out.

My girls are bith light-olive skined, lighter than the model, but darker than me, so I don't hink they will look washed out, but that's because they seem so dark compared to me. They have the the type of skin tome, where they wold tan , but they don't go in the sun. Rhey both have very dark hair like the model.
I defitnely want to keep fall flowers, b/c i already have fall themed invites & favors.
I may go see what the florist can suggest for flowers for the purple dress. I just don't want all my flowers & accents to be purple. And I don't want to carry purple flowers & contrast too much with my dress.

no, it pretty much has to be that dress. It has to be from david's b/c I want both girls tobe able to tr it on without running all over to track down a store that has a certain dress & they both live out of state-differnt states.
That's the only one a David's we agreed on. It does look a little darker in person, though.

Oh sorry, I just realized that they aren't the same. I'm wearing the Spaghetti strap one.
