help me pick my FG gown!

help me pick my FG gown!

me & my mom visited a bridal salon over the weekend and found this 2 gorgeous flower girl gown. verryyy fitting for my royal wedding!!!!

i'll be having 2 FG and one of them is my little sister and i definitely want her to stick out and have a different gown!

the 1st dress is the one that i really LOVE because the train has fabric flowers attached all over the bubble hem! i showed this to fiance when i got home and he wasn't keen on it because he said it's 'too much'. he prefers the 2nd dress which has no bubble hem and no flowers... so i'm torn. which do you think is better? (i can't go wrong in any of them though!)

oh - and of course, the color will be in Gold!

ITA with FH. The first one is a little much for me.

And damn that little girl looks like a little diva the way she's modeling those dresses!

I think a train in general is -too- much for a little girl...if the first OR second one didn't have a train, it would be adorable!

First I know your theme is Royal Wedding and you are going very over the top. I think that should be kept in mind that you are going for an over the top look, and not necessarily judge by whether we think it's 'too much' or not.

Having said that, I personally am not a fan of the peekaboo front on the second dress. I don't like that the underlying fabric is straight draped, and I'm not a fan of peekaboo fronts anyway.

I think the first dress is CRAZY!!!! OMG!! It's like, Pnina for kids!!! I think it's very haute. How old is your daughter? How old is the other flower girl? I personally am a believer in age-appropriate dressing for kids, and I think that the main issue is going to be a child in a bustled gown for the reception. I don't know how old these girls are, but I don't know how I really feel about a gown that bustles on a young child. I think that if you go with a FG gown like the first one, a second 'party dress' may be in order.

Also, have you bought your gown yet? These FG gowns are so distinct and different, that you WILL have to keep your gown or future gown in mind and how they will look next to each other.

Good luck!!!

Re: help me pick my FG gown!

thanks for pointing that out.

i think what i'm going to do is have it to be a detachable train so that the girls could take it off during the reception. the 1st one can easily be done with a detachable train, not sure about the 2nd dress. (oh, and it is for my 5 year old sister who can really pull this one off!)

as far as my gown... i most likely am going for the ball-gown types so it would def match the FG.

I'm sorry, but I do not like the first dress, I think the bubble hem looks like a part of the human gastrointestinal anatomy.

I DO like the second dress keeping in mind your royal theme... I don't think I would like it for any wedding, but it seems to fit with yours. If you can do the detachable train, all the better.

ETA, how old is the other FG and what are you having her wear if you're not dressing them the same?

Re: help me pick my FG gown!

I disagree with most of the girls, I love the first one! It's so different and if your wedding is an over the top royal theme, I think a plain dress might not fit in. You don't want the flower girls to look like they belong to a different wedding party. IMO most guys don't really know fashion, and most FH don't seem to really care all that much. If you think it will really bother him, don't pick the first one. On the other hand, if you think he just gave an opinion because you asked for one and he really doesn't care, go with the one you like.

i think they're both very pretty but i really am against the idea of making a little child look like a bride ... it's just too much for the poor kid ... but it's your wedding so do whatever makes you happier :)

I didn't really care for either, but I liked the second better than the first.

This...the first does kind of look like an intestine to me...I'm sorry. :(

I also do think that its too much to ask a little girl to handle a train.
