Help me pick the color of my centerpieces...please : )
This is actually kind of a repost from the 06 East Wind thread. My hall recently got new chairs and my reception room was pretty colorful to begin with: the walls, carpet, and linens are all very colorful.
I was going to originally have light lavender roses (seen in bo-k), 2 dozen of them, as centerpieces. However, now I am wondering if the light pink will tone down the colors a bit (which is what I would liek too do...don't want too much color). The problem is that lavender roses are my absolute favorite...and I love the meaning of them: Love at first sight and enchantment!!! I would love to have them as my centerpiece, but like I said I think it would would make the room even more colorful. What do you all think?
The first pic is the new chairs, the second pic is the reception room w/ the old chairs (but we will be using ivory napkins), and the third pic is a bo-k w/ both of the colors of the roses (lavender and pink) which my bo-k will be based on.

I think the lavender roses would be very pretty in that room with the new chairs. Not too much color at all!!

I think it will be fine, it's so dark in the hall during the reception that nobody will be matching your flowers to the chairs. don't sweat it!

What is the color of the walls in the room? Is it lavender? What color table linens are you having? All ivory?

The walls have like a mauve, pink, flower pattern. The table lines are as seen above except the napkins. The tables there always have white linen over green. You choose the napkins...I am choosing the same ivory as the top linen. The carpet is pink and green. ETA: There may be some hint of lavender in the wallpaper too.

If the overall layout is pink and green, do you think lavender will match? If there is more green, then lavender will match. But if there is more pink, maybe you'd like to go with shades of pink to ivory. The pink doesn't necessarily have to be bright. It can be more muted when it palys off of ivory.
I agree, too many colors may look too busy...

I agree...Im having a hard time with my flowers b/c of the colors in my room for this reason exactly!
