You go to a bridal gown shop and they'll measure you for a gown. Dress sizes are VERY different than the size you would go buy yourself in a store. They'll help you with all of that, and it's always better to go bigger because you can have it altered after. I wouldn't suggest ordering from an online store because most are no returns. Your dress won't affect the way the make-up looks on you. Make-up should look and feel good on. A good make-up artist will work with you to find the right colors for your skin tone. The rehearsal is done wherever you are having your ceremony, at the RH or the church. You typically all then go to a restaurant for dinner and gift giving, etc. HTH!

The great thing about planning a wedding is that you can't really go wrong as far as what type of wedding you decide to have. Pick up some wedding books and/or magazines (magazines tend to make me feel like you have to do things over the top though) for ideas and tips. Also, are there any family wedding traditions from Trinidad that you'd like to include in your wedding? You can, if you want--it's YOUR wedding!

You really are better off going to a bridal shop then buying your wedding gown on line because the gown can look so different on your body then on the model's body. The seamstress at the store will measure and order the correct size. Be aware that bridal gowns run small so they always order larger sizes and as was said before.....better larger than small. You can always take in the dress, but you can't take it out. Good luck....I'm sure you will look beautiful and have a beautiful wedding.

Re: help me please
I'm from Tobago and this is the first real wedding in my and FH's family. It is so hard trying to make everyone understand that there are differences with weddings here. My sisters grew up here in US so they understand a little but my parents are astounded my the normal cost of your basic wedding. As for all your concerns... FM me with any questions. I'm curious... what home things are you incorporating in your wedding. I haven't actually planned the wedding itself and I'm having a hard time booking a DJ because you know... the music is definitely an issue... Anyway, dress sizes, I would look at the measurements chart online for the designer of the gown you like and get order based on your largest measurement. For example if your hip meausurement is say 35 and that's the largest number measurement you have then I'd order the size corresponding with a 35 hip. As for the RD and having the rehearsal at a hall... I truly havent thought of that... I'm curious as to the answer myself. Please FM me with any questions that I might be able to help with.
And the weave and make up issue... Mia from bri dal lou nge is also African American and very professional... from what I hear on these boards. I contacted her and she was booked on my day but she referred me to someone very reputable and experienced... who I'm yet to get together with... had some budget issues... As far as the weave... I'd just start getting them done periodically to see how they feel from someone you really feel can do a good job. I'd also ask on ebonybridalplanner.com about where you'd find a good stylist.
I feel your pain HTH

Ok everyone already gave you advice about everything else.
I am white but i have had extensions...now depending on how you want your hair for your wedding, i would get the extensions as a trial a little while before the wedding...Now you can either keep those in depending how they hold up...or not too long before your wedding get extensions again...I also had my hair done from ahead of time for an event, and the day of i didnt like how it looked, it didnt have that just done fresh look.
For example, if you get curls, i would leave the weave straight and the day of just get it curled.

RK bridal has some of the major designers dress sizes with measurements on their website. You can take your measurements yourself then compare it to their size chart (if the have your designer)
