Help me please....FH is going to be so mad at me :(

So the other night he gave me his debit card to go buy some stuff , and I thought I gave it back to him.

I just found it in the dryer in one of my pants!!!! IT's a little bent on one corner.

Can the bank do anything about this before we go on our HM on monday????

Please help...I am so stressed out now that its down to the last minute here. :(. It's not like I meant to do it on purpose. What can I do?????

Any help would be appreciated.

Try it out first, if the magnetic strip still works, you might be able to still use it, or possibly the bank can give you a temporary!!!

yes...if its a debit card then they have them on hand...a regular credit card takes a while in the mail. Definitely get a new one...dont risk taking the damaged one away and being stuck with no money!

I am having like a melt down right now b/c I am so stressed. I had a fit last night b/c I can't find the jacket/shawl thing I bought to go with my dress :(

I just hope nothing else decides to 'surprise' me these next few days.

I also have a really bad stomach virus right now :(

I work for a Bank....I am a trainer for Capital One Bank.. so I teach classes for them. It really depends on what bank the Debit card is from. With Cap 1 we can issue a temp debit card and then order a perm card... so this way you have a debit card to use (the name is not embossed on the temp card but it should have a MC logo) while you are waiting the 10 business days for the real card to come in the mail; the real card will have the name embossed on it. Most banks should at least be able to give you a temp ATM card while you wait for the Debit Card to come in the mail. I know the ATM card isn't as good as the Debit card... but some places take ATM cards for transactions. Also, are you sure the card no longer works? Try to use it... or even just try to swipe it and see if it still reads... you can try to gain access to a closed ATM location and if it reads you might still be ok. If you need to know anything else FM me!

Also.... you can do non swipe transactions... all they need is the card number, exp date, and the 3 digit number from the back (security number)!

Anytime something happened w. my debit card at WAMU, I always had to wait for it to be mailed to my house. They were unable to give me another one on the spot. I hope you have better luck.

What bank is it from?
I ask because I have accounts at a couple of banks and not all of them give you a temp or a real debit card on the spot. Commerce which is now TD Bank gives you the real debit card right there on the spot with your name on it which i love. HSBC and Citibank will mail it to your home. Not sure if Citibank gives temp cards but i know HSBC doesn't because i had a real problem when i lost mine.

It wasn't terribly bent, but it was bent, and I didn't want there to be a problem. Plus it was in the dryer and the washer, so I was worried.
