I've never done scrapbooking before and it seems so difficult to me!
BUT I bought a scrapbook the other day and I want to use to to preserv a lot of the memories FH and I have together. We have SO much stuff through the years little shoeboxes all over the place, I decided we need to consolidateit and we can make a neat scrapbook documneting our years together. It's really just for us and our families to look back on, but I want it to be pretty, so we can lave it out on the coffee table for people to look at. Do you have any tips? Is there a book or kit I can get? What will I need to get started? I am SOOO clueless! Please help! Thanks!

Re: Help me start scrapbooking!
Basic supplies include...
scissors 12' paper trimmer or metal ruler/exacto knife Acid free patterened paper & cardstock Acid free adhesive Acid free pen
And if you want: stickers, die cuts other embellishments.
These can all be purchased at Michaels, ACMoores, scrapbook stores.
Check out sites like www.lifetimemoments.com, www.twopeasinabucket.com, www.scrapjazz.com
They have galleries you can use to get ideas and forums to chat with other scrappers and stores to shop :D
Most of the scrapbook stores have beginner classes and Baldwin HS has a class starting in September or October - Tuesday evenings 7-9pm for 10 weeks (I think it's $55 + materials) - it's a great deal and the women running the class are sweethearts.
It feels overwhelming at first but it isn't really, just do what you like, journal, and the rest falls into place.
if not just look on the crafts board for all day crop info posted Thread.
good luck

Re: Help me start scrapbooking!
Scrapbook stores have events called 'crops'-- they were very helpful for me when I was first starting out, especially because I had a lot of questions, and learned new techniques each time I went. Theres a little place in Miller Place called the scrapbook Patch, in the Friendly's shopping center. Theres also a place called the scrapbook Alley that is closing, and has really cute paper and good paper for really cheap.
I went to walmart for my first 'set' of paper.. just solid, different colors.. It helped me learn to cut and to shape and all of that!! I am still pretty new, but am learning all the time, if you have any question feel free toFM me!! Good luck!
