Re: HELP ME!!! Sunday nite problems

I had a Sunday afternoon wedding. I decided I'd rather get myself up early, and do what would be most convenient/enjoyable for the two hundred guests (including a lot of travelers). Believe me, you are so excited that day that waking up early is no problem at all!

Honestly, as a guest I would rather attend a Sunday afternoon as opposed to a Sunday night.

Most people will have to work the next day and will not want to overindulge themselves, and they would probably leave early.

I know getting up early is going to be a pain in the a$$ but I think it is a better solution.

If you're considering an afternoon wedding, then I don't think a Saturday Afternoon is more expensive than a Sunday afternoon (at least from our searching). You can also do a Sunday night before either a Memorial day or Labor Day.

has flowerfield said why they can't accomodate your wedding earlier? what time of year is it for?

I attended a Sunday night wedding and had a blast. Don't get me wrong, I woke up on Monday with a little bit of a headache for work, but I had a good time the night before, so I dealt with it. The older generation might have a problem with it, so I am sure some people might go home a little bit earlier.

flowerfield can have a sunday afternoon wedding that ends at 5, so they can not accomodate a sunday evening wedding that started at 5:30.

because of cost, we wanted an off season wedding in a terrific place. flowerfield, with a 175 person guarantee is $95 ppp in feb and $105 in Nov. for sunday nite. sunday afternoon with a 165 guarentee $100 ppp.

hmm, sunday afternoon is looking better. i just called flowerfield and the ceremony would start at 11:30 am. I live so far away from it, i would need to leave my house at 10:30am. i guess that is the sacrifice you make.

I think ending at 12:30 is a little late. I know I have been to many Sunday night weddings and don't mind them but I went to one in NJ and it ended that late and practically my whole table left early. We all had long rides home and work the next day. (But if it is a really close friend and I expect a great wedding ..I'll make sure I take Monday off. LOL).

I would go with NRC!!! But I am a past-NRC bride so I am very biased!!!

We are having our Wedding on a Sunday Afternoon with ceremony at hall - Majestic Gardens - 12:30 Ceremony starts and then reception over at 6:00 - it is the day before Memorial Day so for those traveling, will most likely have off the next day.

My wedding is Sunday night, ceremony at 3:30 but reception not until 6:30, and will go until midnight.

I went back and forth on this very subject and ended up booking the Friday night Would you consider a Friday night?

My thoughts and reasons for a Friday nights are:

Cheaper, you can start the ceremony at FF what evertime you like, the entire staff is fresh (by the time Sunday comes everyone is exhausted, the band/DJ is fresh, the video person is fresh.

If you pick the Friday before Presidents day, more people will tend to take a 4 day weekend, but then again that Monday everyone will be off.

I have been to a few Sunday weddings this past year and as soon as the cake and coffee is served everyone takes off (the old timers at least). Just my thoughts.

My wedding is on a Sunday night. The ceremony is at 3:30 and reception not until 6-11. I figure those who want to come will. I have a significant amount of out of town guests, so it was either take off Friday or a Monday.

I'm having a Sunday night wedding. I also have a lot of out of town people so they would be taking off a day anyway, may as well be Monday. I feel that the people who are important to me will stay. If the others leave early, oh well. A day wedding for me was out of the question, my whole family would come late and miss the whole thing.

We're having a Sunday 'twilight' reception - cocktails begin at 4:30pm. We actually got the idea from Flowerfield - they have that option, but I have to say it is considerably more expensive than the sunday night or morning because yours is the only wedding they can accomodate that day. But if youre doing it on a non holiday offpeak sunday, maybe it would be more affordable?

We had a Sunday Day. I decide to stay @ a hotel very close to our location the night before so I wouldn't have the stress of a long drive. Flowerfield is a really beautiful place, I think a day wedding there would be beautiful!
