ok, my fiance is telling me that this is 'my wedding not his'(in regards to all the vendors we are booking).... so far the one thing that is 'his' is that we are using his church for the cermony. after going to julykbrides wedding he got excited at the MC/DJ there, and wants that specific person. saying that that is the one thing he'd be excited about at the reception. I have tried calling the company, and left a message never got a call back, a week later left a message, nothing and its over a month now. fiance thinks im not 'trying enough to get them'.. and that i should call our photographer who is in the same office and have them ask them! I dont feel comfortable doing that, i feel that 2 phone messages should be enough for the company to contact me. Ive tried to tell him that there are other MC's at other companies who would probably be able to sound just like him.. but he doesnt want to listen to it and tells me to just have my wedding. what more can i do?

Why don't you tell him to call?

I would either have him call them or call them and leave one more message when your together, so he sees that you are trying. I don't know if I would want to hire someone who couldn't return a call (that's just my 2 cents, sorry). Hope it all works out.

Re: help me.... vent
if FH wants him so bad...he should put the effort into it...
but I do agree...my DH really didn't want much...so when he did express an opinion I tried to give it to him...

Here's an idea...
Why doesn't HE call? I'm sorry but your post really upset me. If he wants something that bad, then he should be the one pursuing it (sp?)...
It is not just YOUR wedding, it's both of yours... he needs to realize that!
Cheer up! You've tried your best! Try one more time to the company if that doesn't get you a call back then I'd give up...

Can't he try to call? If he feels like it is not his wedding, then maybe he should be more actively involved in the planning process, including making the calls and booking appointments. I would tell him to make the calls, and then if they don't respond to his messages, move on to a different DJ.

I agree with Yabbobay, if he is that interested in the DJ, he can put some effort into it. If you're the only one planning everything, ofcourse you're going to go with the things you think are good! I would be upset with his accusations of it being all about you. That's not fair. If you were saying no to all his ideas and wants, that would be different. Give him the number and then he can worry about unreturned phone calls. I am not really adament about much and neither is FH, so whenever one of us REALLY wants something, the other is fine with it. He sounds like he feels left out which some grooms are okay with. Maybe if you bombard him with questions and ask for input he'll see what you've been doing all this time! Good luck.

Re: help me.... vent
he has been going with me for EVERY vendor.. he even told me what he didnt like from the ones we saw... and said he wants to go to ever vendor to be involved.. im just frustrated cause like one of you said.. if i leave 2 messages and they dont call me then how highly am i suppose to think of the company? he doesnt find it manly i guess to call, but was willing to call last night after they closed(to leave a message) but then fell asleep early.... UGHHHH
maybe tommybride can hit buttermike to stop him from talking

I don't know how convenient this is, but you two could actually drive down the the store and try to speak with him that way. Maybe ask to speak with the manager and have them get the DJ to call back. I'm not sure what kind of business it is, so that would make a difference.

my fiance did the same thing. he was not happy with the price of the video and photographer so i said to get your a#$ on the phone and you get the vendors. that shut him up for a while.

Re: help me.... vent
My FH says the same thing at times. I don't feel bad about it cuz there were times I tried to involve him & he didn't offer any opinions/solutions so . . . now deal.
But I'd definitely (& have) told FH if he thought I wasn't trying hard enough in any situation that he is welcome to take over & try to do a better job.

I'm going with the majority here- you FH wants them let him get them. He wants more to do- put him in charge of the seating. Tell him, If you want something done right, do it yourself.

Re: help me.... vent
I would definitely try calling the MC again. I had such a great experience with them. I'm not sure why you are having such a problem getting in touch with them. Usually Keith is in the office during the day time during the week. I hope that helps!
