Help me with b-day plans

So FH was trying to surprise me on my 30th with having a birthday dinner with our friends. But he started to stress and had to tell me. Since we just don't have it like that and can't pay for everyone. We went looking around for places that would do something pr-fixed for the party. Is that cheesy it would be $34 pp and it will included soda, family style appetizer, salad, and a 3 choice dinner, coffee,tea,capp., and they will cut our cake that we will bring.
Since xmas is so close with thought it would be easier to keep the cost down, what do you think?

We just went to a 30th bday party... where we just got a group of friends together..... and all went out to dinner... with the understanding that it wasn't a 'hosted party where someone pays for everyone
' We went to a nice italian restaurant everyone ordered what they wanted and paid for themselves.. and then threw in a few extra bucks and covered the bday girl..... (just an idea)

I really hate celebrating my birthday....
(My grandfather.. who raised me... passed away and was burried on that day)

I think thats a good idea. The whole idea is to go out with friends to celebrate...

Theres a nice place on 86th street in brooklyn called MONALISA bakery that makes amazing paninis that everyone shares (Theyre huge) at I believe 10 each, so in actualality 5 each! And their yummy!
