Help! Migraine!

Help! Migraine!

I've had this migraine since 8 pm last night but feel like I started getting it in the afternoon. I became nauseous in the afternoon. Towards the night, my head started to hurt and I figured it was stress from trying to find us an apartment since the wedding is almost here!

I took excedrin at 8pm and thought I would be fine. Around 10 pm I started having blurry vision in my right eye. I guess I was having an aura, which I rarely have.

I finally fell asleep around 11 but then continuously woke up through the night with my head pounding. I was in so much pain, I was in tears. I tried a wet washcloth on my forehead but that didn't work. I tried drinking cold water but that kept making me feel nauseous. I took more excedrin in the middle of the night but I feel like that caused me to be more wide awake. When I lay down my head hurts. When I sit up, it hurts!

I need help to get rid of it! I'm suppose to go with FH today to look at apartments but feel like if the pain doesn't go away, I'm not going anywhere!

Anyone have any suggestions to get rid of this migraine?

excedrin doesnt work for me. i can only use motrin.

also are you sensitive to light or perfumes or cigarettes? make sure to avoid those today.

your computer screen is probably not helping so if i were you, id lay back down till u have to get up, rest, even meditate to relax.

good luck hun. i know what migranes are like. the only thing that works for me is taking motrin and sleep.

There's this oil at the vitamin/natural health places I think it's violet oil. Take that and rub it where it hurts.

You can also take pieces of potatoes (raw) and cut them in circles and put it on your forehead.

Also make sure you stay away from a lot of light until it goes away.

Definitely lay down in a cool room with the lights off for a while

oh i feel your pain! i used to get them every other week...all of your symptoms plus vomiting. its def no fun

if you dont have a prescription for it there isnt much you can do. just stay in a dark room and try to sleep it off (take tylenol pm or something to help you sleep if necessary).

some doctors told me caffeine helps - but that was only when you felt a migraine coming on...once you have it there isnt much you can do.

feel better

Re: Help! Migraine!

I have had these before and it is the worst feeling in the world, I gave up on finding out my trigger as they come less and less now. Have you been to a neurologist ? If not when you feel better make an appointment they can give you the right medecine. Unfortunatly in my experience once its a full blown migraine there is not much that helps but time. I know it sucks but you just have to wait it out in a dark room in bed, I have never had one last more than 2 days so hopefully when you wake up tommorow it will be gone. If its not I would go to the doctor.

I never paid attention to when I get them but then my gyno pointed out I was getting them right before I got my period. This migraine however is due to stress of finding a place to live, I know that for sure.

I tried taking a nap before and was sleeping until I received the call saying we need to go to our RH to pay them and set up the menu, etc.

Head still hurts. I'm starting to feel it in my eyes again. I know it sounds good to lay in a quiet, dark room but right now its not possible. Every time I lay down, things keep running through my mind. I've been on the phone constantly today with realtors trying to find places to look for us to rent. I'm just going to troop it out.

Thank you ladies for caring! I appreciate all the love!

Any time I get stress-related migraines I take Excedrin Tension Headache and it works wonders!!! Oddly enough, I had one last Friday - went to the gym and the head ache was gone!

I hope you feel better soon!!!

Lots of lucky vibes coming your way for the apartment search

Thanks Ashley! I was going to try to go to the gym to work it off but I didn't want to chance driving with my eyes bothering me.

Thanks for the lucky vibes!
