Help my Wedding is 3/3/02 & I need a gift for my Groom
Hi,
We are getting Married in 6 days and I still can not figure out what to get him as a gift. Any ideas would be appreciated. I can't think anymore, because we are closing thursday on our house.

A new watch, something special for the house that he has been wanting, A simple love poem that you write just for him to carry in a new wallet, cuflinks to wear the day of the wedding, engraved keychain, a collector edition book from his favorite author (that is what I get Scott for his 1st birthday that we were together. It is a 1st edition, signed Cider House Rules)
Good Luck on the closing. Bascially, you just sign checks. If you have not done the walk thru here is a hint (believe me when I tell you this), lift up EVERYTHING on the kitchen counters. People cover up burn marks and scratches with small appl., dish drains, and cutting board. Also remember they MUST leave a light fixture in any ceiling outlet, no just light bulbs. They have to give you money if they take them and leave you without. Also check for any air conditioners, storm doors/windows, etc that you were promised.
Have a great time with your new home!!!

For our engagement, I got my FH a Swiss Army pocket watch and had it engraved- he loved it.
Good Luck with the closing and final planning!

My guy is getting Calloways and Big Berthas. He picked them out, so it wasn't a tough decision. It doesn't have the surprise factor, but it eliminated stress for me...

Some more ideas....
For our engagement, I bought my FH golf clubs and he loved/loves them.
For a wedding gift I was thinking of maybe an antique Humadore(sp?) for cigars, or maybe an antique globe with a wood stand (he`s always wanted one). If your FH is into art at all, a nice print/painting would be a great gift that would go nicely with your new house.
Congratulations on your new house and on your wedding!
