help need a roman catholic priest

Does anyone of a roman catholic priest who will do a ceremony outside of a church??/?? PLEASE HELP MOTHER-IN-LAW will freak without one

Just an FYI, I've done a ton of research on this and no RC preist will do a ceremony outside the church, its against RC canon law. Any preist who does it is actually a 'reformed' preist and its not technically recognized my the catholic church. Not sure if that matters to you but something to keep in mind. That might freak your MIL out too lol so maybe don't share that info :)

Any preist who does it is actually a 'reformed' preist and its not technically recognized my the catholic church. Not sure if that matters to you but something to keep in mind. That might freak your MIL out too lol so maybe don't share that info :)

i was going to say the same thing...if you get married outside the catholic church its not recognized by the RC church and yes any priest that will marry you outside of the church is a reformed priest

It might have been because our wedding was interfaith, so different things apply to that ... but with the help of Monsignor Lisante DH was able to get a special dispensation so that our wedding is recognized as a Sacrament for him. We attended Interfaith PreCana at the Church too.

Monsignor Lisante does still practice, he is the Priest
at St. Thomas the Apostle in West Hempstead.

I'm sure when you speak to whomever will be officiating your wedding they will be able to tell you if your wedding would be recognized by the Church.

If the interfaith is between two Christians it must be done in a church to be recognized. If it's between a non-Christian and a Catholic it can be done outside the church.

Interfaith yes will do it outside of the church but it stills basically needs to be OK'ed with the Diocese. there was thread on this awhile ago.. there has to be special reasoning and the priest over seein the ceremony has to get permission basically. otherwise, it MUST be done in a church. For example, you cant just say that you want your weddin outside
