Help!! Need advice

Hi! My name is Angie...and while I am not a bride, I have a question and thought brides-to-be would be the best to answer! Hope you all are doing well and planning is going good...I was married 11 years ago and I know how it can be!

Now my situation...

My male cousin is haveing a wedding in a couple of weeks. It is in LA. My mother and aunt/uncle were invited, but none of the cousins were. I am fine with this...I know they are on a very strict budget. My question is this...I would LOVE to go to LA. I could stay in the room my mother has reserved. MY MOTHER IS PAYING FOR THE ROOM, not the couple getting married. I would fly out there, of course with no intentions of going to the wedding or reception. I would put no pressure on them at all...as a matter of fact, they probably wouldn't even see me!! (Be too busy at the beach and shopping!). It would just be nice to get away (My DH and I have 5 kids...so this would be a dream getaway!). Mom and my aunt are staying for 2 days after the wedding....so we could bum around Hollywood and spend girl time.

What do you ladies think? What is the etiquitte on this type of thing? I don't want to upset anybody, but I would really like to go. I just don't know what to do. Please tell me what you think I should do and how you would feel.

Hi, I am a mother of the bride and I say GO!!! If an opportunity hits you and you are saving money then why not. You are not going to be invited , you are going for some R&R. Get packing.

Go & have a blast!!! This is a great opportunity and you should take it!!!!! In fact I think it's a wonderful idea!!!!

You're not stepping on any toes at all, or doing anything unusual... it's not like you're planning to crash the wedding!!! You're just taking a trip to LA!!!

of course! why not? you have no intentions of going there to crash their wedding! if your mom is paying for the room, you deserve a much needed vacation! go!

I say go. You are very understanding of the situation and wouldnt be going to 'guilt' them into letting you go to the wedding. If you need time away I see nothing wrong with you going to take a mini vaca.

Definitely go! You are not going with any ill intentions of crashing the wedding, but for R&R.

I completely say go. You are going for a vacation and not to put pressure on the bride to invite you to her wedding. If you happen to run into her, wish her the best, and figured you would make a vacation with her mother, and look forward to hearing all about it. GO ENJOY YOURSELF
