HELP! need advice on BM dilemma

Hello. My BM is a good friend of mine since High school. In the beginning, when I asked her to be my BM, she was really supportive and communicative. But over the past 6 months, she is really hard to get in touch with and very distant. It feels lately that our friendship is one-sided where as I am always the one to get in touch with her and she would never call me anymore. I have complained to her that she doesn't keep in touch anymore and she didn't think it was a big deal. She would never inquire about the wedding. She has been unemployed for awhile and money is tight. I paid for her BM dress and told her to pay when she had a full-time job. I know she has a tough time looking for a job and only had a temp job here and there. I have been understanding abut her situation, help her look for a job, supportive on her carrer path, and pretty much hold her hand the whole time. I have only asked her in her role as a BM is to help out the MOH with planning my bachelorette party. I had my party last Sat night and she was a no show. She left a message on my cell and claimed she had a stomach ache. My MOH said she didn't help much with the planning and was so hard to get in touch with her as well. I have this gut feeling that she is not going to be there for me for my wedding day. ( only 26 days away) I love my friend but she hasn't been communicative or supportvie at all. I have been a very good friend to her especially I been her shoulder to cry on so many times when she needed a friend. Now I need her to be there for me! I want to talk to her asking if she still wanted to be a BM. I know she still hasn't gotten the dress altered, gotten shoes, and I still have to tell her about prices on hair and makeup.

Anyone had similar situation with BM?
what did you do?
Any advice would be great. TIA

Re: HELP! need advice on BM dilemma

I've heard/read so many bad stories about girls who weren't there or created major drama and that's why I didn't have one - just MOH and BM.

I would confront your friend and ask her point blank - are you still interested, or should we part now? Unfortunately, this happens more often then it should - and it's very sad. But you're better off knowing now then the day of.

You definitely need to get together with her for a serious one on one. Because of her circumstance, she may feel embarrassed or uncomfortable and you should let her know that she needn't feel that way with you. Talk to her soon before the wall gets any bigger!
