From those Girls who have gotten a Bikini or Brazilian Wax b4. I have my First ever Brazilian appt this Sunday! Never had one b4 and I wanted to try it out to see if I'll do it again b4 the wedding. We're leaving for Aruba a week from Sat so figured this would be the perfect time to see if I'll like it.

I love the results I go about every 4-6 weeks. waxing a week before you leave is good timing its last about 4 weeks and it give you skin time to recooperate.

i used to get this done all of the time... it's not that bad - just breathe deeply... it lasts a long time and is def worth it..

Thanks! Andy advise... I heard to take some aspirin b4. Also... not to sound gross, but do you wear a thong or do they tell you to take it off? Should I wear sweatpants?

They usually give you a pair of disposable underwear to put on...they're a similar material to a doctors gown.

You'll love it! It's painful the first time. Take two advil or tylenol 1/2 hour before your appt. But after that it's really a piece of cake.

Take advil before and buy a product called TendSkin at Sephora.
Becuase there is a lot of pulling and tweezing, there is a chance you will get bumps afterwards...TendSkin soothes the skin and its actually for men and women, so FH can use it on razor bumps too.

I LOVED them when I got them - I went to a place in Port Jeff called Natures Touch. They used a sugar based product - so much nicer than wax - let me tell you. I can't use regular wax, it kills me and bruises me and creates all sorts of bumps and stuff. When I get it sugared it works so much nicer - only red for oh about 3-4 hours and NO skin issues. Natural is really the way to go if you can do it.
Have a good time - take some aspirin and you are getting all that hair taken off - why be modest - take all your undies off!!! really, we are all women here - she is going to be yanking hair from your BUTT HOLE! you don't need to wear any undies during the process. You all crack me up!!!!!
Oh and just a pet peeve: ADVICE!!! With a c not an s!

I get bikini waxes. I don't think I could do a Brazilian. Just about when I get to the point of 'I don't think I can stand any more' it's over. Take a ibuprofen or two about an hour before you go, it will help with the pain. And they say that there are better times in your menstrual cycle to go--I'm on the Ring, though, so it doesn't apply to me.
Good luck! I'm going to have leg, bikini, and underarm waxes the week of my wedding (Monday or Tuesday when I'm getting married on Sunday.) It's really nice to go on vacation and not have to worry about hair removal at all. It's like being a guy, I guess.

TendSkin is great stuff, but it doesn't exactly 'soothe' the skin. It has alcohol and can sting like a mother! But it's great for preventing bumps and ingrown hairs. I use it all the time after shaving and waxing.
