My friend is getting married and his mother passed away when he was younger. He wants to do something to remember her but nothing too depressing or over the top that would draw attention to it and make people sad... Other than a memory candle and photo what would you suggest?
You could leave an empty seat at the ceremony and place a single rose on the seat.

as much as i want to remember my dad at my wedding, i dont think i can without crying. just thinking about putting a picture charm on my bouquet makes me choke up...
both my and FH's dads have passed and at our e-party we had a frame with three pics - one of my dad, one of his dad and a poem that started 'i thought of you with love today but that is nothing new' ... i think i found that poem somewhere on here ... it was a nice acknowledgement of our dads ... i'm not sure what we'll do for the wedding yet but FH gave me a locket for V-day which he said i should put my dad's picture in to have with me at the wedding ... i don't want anything like a pic montage because i know i'll wind up crying ...

A single rose on an empty seat is symbolic. It gives her the recognition without being over the top. When he walks down the aisle, he can place the rose on the chair before the ceremony. Its touching moment.

i knwo this is fkd up but... make sure he doesnt include her in the seatign arrangements if he decided to have a seat for her!!!!!!!!!!! he will get charged! lmao (sorry. so wrong)
also, i dont know the ppl sitting at that table will feel. might amke everyone sad.
id just go with the cufflinks
