Help... Need Places to take Pictures in Eastern Long Island...

Does anyone have any ideas of pretty picturesque places to take pictures near or around Shirley/Patchogue area. FH are getting married 9/30/05 at a 4:00pm ceremony that ends at 4:45 with a cocktail hour that starts at 6:30pm. We are looking for picturesque places near our reception site.

Originally I thought the arboretum in sayville but it is to far and will up to much traveling time. FH wants the beach but honestly I really don't want to drag my dress through the sand especially before the reception and I also don't want to go anywhere near salt water because I am wearing my hair down!

Any Ideas/Suggestions?

There is something on the campus of Farmingdale but I think that might still be far from you. There is a nice courthouse with a gazebo right off of Sunrise Hwy. I can't remember what town it is in though.

You could go to Dowling, but there's a $100 fee and it's almost as far as Bayard... any park in the area would be pretty, especially if there is a gazebo. How about the playground of a school yard? Those would be fun pictures! You could go down to Smith's point and take pics or any of the ther beaches too

I think there is a pretty park in Holbrook or Holtsville? Something like that.

Bayard Arboretum. It's $6 per car. It's in either Islip pr Bayshore. I have pics of it in one of my albums. Take a look!

A new park was built by the Town of Port Jefferson right next to Danfords Inn. It has a walkway with a nice railing and a great view of the harbor. Plus, you wouldn't have to get sand on your dress!
