My wedding is in 2 weeks and my BM just got her dress today. (The store's fault, not hers)
Since then, I sent out a wedding invitation to my BMs mother and she accepted it. The problem is, my BM is from a very religious home and needs a something to cover her arms and chest (the dress is strapless) She is very very uncomfortable wearing this dress in front of her mother.
Does anyone have any ideas where to get a cover for her dress? A seamstress said it can't be altered, so she would need something else.
I mentioned Davids Bridal to her, but does anyone have any other ideas. It doesn't have to match perfectly, it just needs to go with it. And the wedding is 2 weeks away!

Re: Help needed! BM dress issue...
what color is the dress?
If it's a simple color she can buy a shawl to cover her arms and chest....try Macy's they carry tons of dressy ones for parties.

macys, Kohls, target they all carry shawls. try and find somehting there. You may be able to find a shrug or jacket but I doubt that it will match or look formal
Good Luck

Re: Help needed! BM dress issue...
I am always cold at events so I usually just bring a cardigan and I like how they look over a dress...I know it is not a ideal for a BM but she would be covered and not feel so uncomfortable...maybe you can find one that has the same color as the dress...I know the GAP just came out with a new line...maybe put a brooch or something on it to fancy it up??

You can go into the city and purchase a paschima(hope I spelled it right) scarf for 5 dollars. She can wear it over her shoulder, arms and chest and you can also purchase a nice brooch and pin it to the side.
