Help Needed - Thick Curly Hair

One of my BMs (also my half sister) has VERY thick curly hair. She is concerned that the salon I made the appointment at for her to get her hair done the day of (with all the other BMs) will have a hard time working with her hair. She is half Puerto Rican and her hair is so thick, she wears it in a pony tail everyday. The salon is my regular salon and I have never seen anyone with hair similar to hers in there, so I am concerned too.

Does anyone have a salon they recommend that would be familiar with updos for very thick curly hair? Suffolk County (eastern) preferable. Thanks!

I have very thick, wavy hair. My GF who is a hairdresser for many, many years is so good iwth my hair. She has put it in updo's many times.
