I haven't been on for a while but I just got my album layout back from Duet, and I guess I was expecting more. Do you think it is boring? Any suggestions?

I'd love to see the pics of the layout. Add them to your LIW album and then add web images of each on your original post.
I'm worried that I won't like my album layout either when that time comes!

The pics are beautiful but I can see where you might be concerned. It looks as if there are one too many pages with nothing going on around them. The pics are just there on the page whereas on the others, there is some sort of background. You have to give the approval before they can print and bind it so now is the time to express your concerns and ask them to make some changes. Don't worry, I'm sure everything will work out and you will be pleased with the finished product! Good luck!

I have my album layout- or my second proof- not actually the one I am getting, maybe you can get other duet ideas, thats what I actually did, i took a look at other peoples albums and actually emailed them what I wanted... took 3 times but I think I got what I wanted now...

Your pics & layout are beautiful! How many pics did you have in your ablum? Does it cost more money with more pics? I can't wait to do my album. I need to get my butt moving on it.

Ok, so after looking over your pages, I think it looks very nice, but I also see things that I would personally prefer them to change based on my personal preference.
Is this a Fusion album where you have magazine style pages and some traditional pages with the black background?
If so, am I correct in assuming that the pages where there is currently a white background, on the final album it will actually be a back background and the pics will have a small silver matte around them?
If the answer to these two questions is yes, then here are some ideas:
I personally like it best when the matted pictures are of the couple or of a specific item of the wedding (like the cake, or something like that). I feel like the matted pictures are highlighted a bit more than the magazine style pictures, so I would change it so that the matted pictures are of you and your hubby.
I also personally prefer it when most of the pages have a washed out picture of some detail as a background to the pictures on it. Like in the first few pages.
I love all the layouts in the third set - personally I would leave those alone.
Overall I really like your album because there are some great pictures in there and I think they have done a nice job of putting them together well for you. But if you are not pleased, then by all means go ahead and make changes because once it's done, there's no turning back.

I dont understand why they didn't have you choose which pictures you want in your album, or go over the payout with you ahead of time. Where you not given this option?
Also, I think it looks nice, but if you are not happy with it- you should have them change what you dont like. Im sure the albums were not cheap!!

they do let you choose which images are in the album..and they send you proofs of the album so that if there is anything you want them to change...layout/quotes/move pics around/add or remove pics/etc... you can!

You album is beautiful. As a designer myself who has made up plenty of presentaion boards I would say that the eight pages with the white background need to be adjusted. There really is nothing going on there. It looks like a cut and paste. As said in the previous post --- if they are going to re-create it with a black background with silver lining then that would be one way or see if they can have a faded picture in the background to incorporate it with the rest of the album. Overlapping some of the photos isn't a bad idea either as long as it is done in a suttle way with a faded background. But the rest of the album looks wonderful.
