Help! Not sure what to do about shower...

Help! Not sure what to do about shower...

I am a BM in friend's wedding. The bride, two of us BMS, and most of her friends live on Long Island. Her sister is the MOH and lives in Seattle. Her family lives upstate and down south.

The wedding is in three months and the MOH has not contacted us about a shower. The bride told me that she passed on our email addresses months ago. I do know that the sister is very busy with her job so perhaps she is not on top of shower planning???? The bride basically told us that we would have to contribute for the shower since her family is not from LI and not used to the 'mother pays for the shower' LI tradition.

Ok....so here is my question....

Should I email the MOH and ask what is going on? My only problem with doing this is that I don't want to get stuck planning everything for a huge shower. I would be willing to plan a small shower for our friends down here (maybe 10-12 people). Then maybe her sister and mother could plan something upstate for her.

What do you guys think?

Maybe you should send her an email to say hi and telling her you are just checking in on the bridal shower plans.

I think it's a really good idea for you to reach out to them to find out what's going on. If there's nothing going on, planning a smaller-scale shower is a wonderful idea. My mom couldn't afford to throw me a shower and my MOH and BM live out of town, so I planned my own brunch ladies luncheon last weekend and it was wonderful! Just 12 girls and it ended up being only $15 a person so totally affordable! We had so much fun, too!

Definately reach out to her. I've been in weddings where the BM's all contribute to the shower. Some MOB just can't do it.

I think it would be a great deal to just reach out and see what is going on.
