FH and I are looking for a location for our wedding. We've seen countless websites and pictures and I think we're vicitms of information overload! You all seem so nice and helpful, so I was hoping you might be able to help us narrow our search.
We live in Nassau County. We're looking for a place in Nassau/West Suffolk for our wedding since we will be having a number of guests from NJ/NYC Metro. We're planning on having 150-170 guests and we'd like to pay no more than $115 per person. We will need to have the ceremony and the reception in the same location, and we're planning on a summer 2006 wedding. Our ideal scenario is to be the only wedding at the location that day.
Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks so much!
Jamie

Re: Help! Not sure where to begin...
You should look into The Metropolitan in Glen Cove. The price is in your range and the size seems to be a perfect fit too. The menu starts at $85pp and actually includes a lot for that price. Of course they have a lot of add-ons, but the initial menu is really nice.
For a Sat. night wedding the minumum is 140 people and the max. is 190.
We had also looked at Sans Souci for our reception, but felt that it looked a bit 'rundown', but it did have a really pretty view of the water and a nice little lawn for the cocktail hour. Hope I helped somewhat.
Good Luck!

You should also check out Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst, although they have 2 weddings, they are spread out (1 1/2-2 hours), so you never run into e/o. It is right on the water & Nick & the staff are awesome.
ETA: I love my CH - Timber Point Country Club. It's on the water and only one wedding at a time.

I will suggest my hall as I have 1/2 from Jersey and beyond, and 1/2 from LI.
I am the only bride and they've treated me very welll. And it's only a hop skip and jump to the Cross Island Parkway (major bonus in my book).

I suggest the North Ritz Club in Syosset. This the place I ultimately picked (after looking at many) - mainly because it is one wedding at a time and its beautiful. We are also getting married there (hopefully outside, weather permitting). We're having a Saturday afternoon wedding at it about 100 per plate including tax and gratuity. there's a 150 person min and 350 person max.
