HELP NRC brides

I was totally set on booking at the NRC- I really liked it there- thought the ballroom was big and roomy (having about 225-250 ppl). Problem is that i went to hear a band there tonight (10 Piece) and it felt like the room was soooo small. Not sure if it was the fact that the band took up the entire wall - by the door - right up to the dance floor or what. Did anyone ever have the band across from the bride and groom. I didnt get a chance to ask the NRC if they would consider moving the stage?? The room was only set for about 175 people and it seemed like it would be tight to add that many more tables- have you have comforatble big weddings there?

My son's wedding was there in October. We had 240 people attend. It was a perfect size. More than that if you're having the ceremony there (downstairs) would be too tight.

One of my friends got married there in JUly...they had the band situated to the right of the door in the ballroom...they had about 200 people. I thought it was a good set up

Thanks. I am actually not having the ceremony there and might have 250 ppl think that will be tight in the ballroom?

we had 180 people and a 9 piece band and there was tons of room. I don't think it would be a problem.

I had 190 people and it was SO roomy - where were you sitting - i feel like at the left side when you enter the room - it seems on small - but i solved that by only having 3 tables there

I am going to go back on saturday and get another look and talk to them about maybe moving the band (not sure if that is an option). Also- did you all have a problem getting in there early becuase of another affair? She told me that on a saturday- with a 7 or 7:30 cocktail hour, if there is another wedding during the day- that I wouldnt be allowed onto the grounds until 6:30pm. does that sound right???

when i first found NRC (May 2002), they had the band set up where you want it (which is the more natural spot). unfortunately, due to some fire regulations, it HAD to be moved right next to the door.

I had 240 people with 23 tables and it was very comfortable. Great dance floor & plenty of room. I think the stage area is perfectly centered & that's why the room works so well. The band will be in the middle of everyone. I think if you move them across from Bride & Groom you will change the dynamics of the room and the dance floor will be long and you guys will be way in the back.
Loved NRC- you'll be so happy there!
