Re: Help on signing the contract with RH
Well, I guess just make sure everything you agreed on verbally are int he contract---like price obviously, but also starting time and clean up time, and if the BM offered to throw in any extras. Oh, and minimum number of guests too.
Good luck!

Make sure that prices of extras you are thinking of possibly putting in later (eg Viennese hour or chair covers) is placed on the contract and that the price will be honored in 2009. What the price is for vendors and for children (ask them if they are under 4 will they be free). What the minimum number of guests is needed.

Also make sure all of the payment info is clear when money is due and how you can pay( cash, credit, check), Vendor meal costs too.

i agree---remember the First rule of RHs....IF IT ISN'T IN THE CONTRACT--IT DOESN'T MATTER!
no matter if the BM says 'we'll give you this for free and that for free'...if he/she never writes it down--it will not make a difference. anything they were doing for us, we had put in the contract.

Re: Help on signing the contract with RH
I’m not 100% sure if it’s in the contract or another document, but the cancellation policy too. You may also have 72 hours after signing to cancel for whatever reason, without penalty to you—I can’t remember if it’s NY State law or not.

I would write a list of everything you want before hand so when you go there you wont forget anything..

Make sure you ask about any possible upgrades (the bar, the cake, etc.). not that you have to do them but so you know ahead of time and they don't hit you with them after you've already booked.

I would make sure they WRITE DOWN anything they say 'of yeah, we do that' to. Like 'Oh yeah, you can come early for pics' or 'Oh yeah, we can change a dish to your liking' or 'Oh yeah, we will throw in a sundae bar.'
Or any other extras they say they are giving you.
I would also make sure a tasting is in the contract.
Good luck!
