Help-Photographers

Help! I am deciding between two photographers, Jo Von and VIP. Please give feedback on both. This is the toughest decision so far!!

I don't know anything about VIP, but I don't like Jovon. Hope that helps.

I am using VIP, love their work. I have heard good things about JoVon but I heard they were expensive. Are they roughly the same in price for the same items? Also does Jovon give you 2 photographers or is that extra?

I have seen work by both, from different friend's weddings. IMO, JoVon is less artistic, less creative, more traditional in poses and effects. Also, VERY expensive for what you get.

I am using Jovon and had our e-pics done- I thought they were very creative and came out beautiful. I would recommend them.

Jovan places their book at almost every reception place on LI to get business. I'm sure there's a kickback involved here.

Personally, my mom and I didn't really like their picutures and I bet they are less likely to negotiate since they are already linked with many reception places.

I can't comment about VIP but my daughter looked at JoVon twice. She loved thier work, & I have to admit it was really beautiful, but it was way out of her budget. After seeing their work it was nearly impossible for her to make a decision re a photographer because she compared everyone to JoVon. We looked at tons of their books & they wouldn't tell us which photographer shot which book until we told them which one we liked. This way we could have gotten the style of photograohy we liked best.

Here's my two cents...if any of you notice, JoVon will never shoew you a complete wedding book. It's always a collage of various brides. I had asked to see some proofs of a recent job. They had given me the runaround about viewing the proofs of a job. That made me hesitant on talking to them any longer.

just a comment from a guest's perspective - my friend used JoVon and they were SO RUDE to the guests. Not to mention painfully intrusive with really awful, annoying bright flashes! I had to leave the reception early because I got a migrane from the incessant flashes.

You're pictuers look beatutiful. I love the yellow dresses. Well, I ended up booking with John at VIP and I'm very happy. You're pictures make me feel like I made the right decision!
