Help- placecards

I'm doing my own placecards and i have a question on the naming. How do I write couple's names on the placecard? Do I write the full name of both people or just the full name of the person I know better and then the other person's firt name:

Ms. Sally Johnson
and
Mr. John Smith

or

Ms. Sally Johnson
and John

I'm just thinking about alphabetical order, it will have to be by one of the people's last names and I feel like it might be confusing if I put two full names on the card.

If they are married then I would put

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith

if not

I would put the person I am closest with first and then the other but use the full name for both

my mom told me that traditionally the man's name is suppose to go first (BIG SUPPRISE!!!)

that's funny, i've already heard that they are put in alphabetical order. i didn't follow that either
