I have pre cana in a few weeks. I dont know if this topic will come up but should i say that FH and I are living together? i know there was a thread about this before but i dont know what to do! how could i lie in a church?!?!?

My priest knows that FH and I live together. So does the diocese. FH isn't catholic, so I had to get 'permission to marry a non-catholic' (which I think is hilarious). But on the 'permission slip' we had to fill out our addresses and phone numbers. So I didn't lie, I put the same address and phone number for both of us. The priest noticed it and quickly said 'Oh that's right you already live together,' and left it at that.
And yes, we got our 'official permission' to get married and are going through pre-cana at the end of the month.
I think the churches are becoming much more lenient about this now, knowing that it's so hard for people NOT to live together....especially in this economy.

I had Pre Cana a few weeks ago and a few couples said that they were already living with each other and they were able to get their certificates and move forward.
Another couple also mentioned that they have kids outside of marriage....I don't think that they'll give you a hard time if you guys are living with each other already...

If it comes up, just be honest. The couples who do pre-cana do so bc they want to help young couples have a successful marriage. They've been through much of what you're going through now. They've had ups and downs and struggles in their own relationship, just like any other couple, and it's their calling to help you face those challenges. Nothing to be worried about!

I had precana and 2 meetings with the priest already. Never came up. Also like pp said, we had a number of couples with kids already and the leaders were really cool about it.
