We were all set to have our rehearsal dinner at Buongusto in Roslyn, but my FMIL just quit her job and she thinks it is too much money! Now I need to find a restaurant in Queens or Nassau that can hold 40 people for about $25 pp. Any help would really be appreciated.

A friend of mine had hers at a VA hall and she had a local pizzeria do trays of baked ziti and lasagne, etc.

The only suggestion I have is the olive garden. Prices start at $14 and can go up to $20 if you add alot of different dish selections and liquor. I held a bridal shower there for someone and the food and service was amazing.

Mine is at the Coles House in Glen Cove but I cannot remember how much they charge... I know they are a vendor on here so maybe you can give them a call...
ETA: you could also try 'pageone' which is located near the Coles House... The chef there use to cook at the Harrison House...

I don't live in LI, but we decided to have a pizza party as our RD. We'll just have pizza, salad, beer and wine and we'll have a bunch of different desserts. Look into your local pizza places that have a back room. You may be able to get something simple like family style appetizers for the table, salad and pizza for a reasonable price. The wedding will be fancy so there's nothing wrong with going simple for the RD.

Have you tried Jonathan's Restaurant. It's on Jehrico Turnpike in Garden City Park/No. Hempstead Jonathan's Restuarant They have a private party room in the back.
