Help re: flowers

I was going to make my own bouquets with my mom (she went to school for floral design and worked in a florist for years). Anyway, I decided to ask around for prices just to see if it would be cheaper to get them made by the time we order flowers, ribbon etc. And also that would be alot to do the day before the wedding.

So can you more experienced flower girls tell me if this is a great price? I got some RIDDICULOUS ones (IMO) from a few others vendors and this seems to be VERY low and reasonable.

Brides bouquet
6 bridemaids
7 boutineers
2 corsages

for 489 any choice of flowers I want???!!???

Any input would be MUCH MUCH appreciated as he said they have already stopped taking work through july 4th of next year and my wedding is the 7th

ETA: it is from a reputable vendor that has had great reviews on the site

Sorry, forgot to tell you where I got them.......
Duhhh.
Burtons Bridals and I have more than you would have, so I'm sure yours would be less money. By the way, I can have any flower I want and any size I want and it's 760$ no matter what! So I thought that was really good, plus my two future sisters in laws have used them and the flowers were georgous!

Sounds good. Check out George from Signature Florist. He's at 2554 Merrick Rd. in Bellmore. JessicaM and Leese are also using him. He gave me the lowest quote out of all of the florists I went to see and has amazing quality flowers.

He gave me a great quote and even made me a sample of the stand that I wanted to create. He is awesome and I can't wait to see the sample with the flowers when it is ready. So far his quote is amazing and he clearly has a passion for hat he does.

Re: Help re: flowers

Heres the thing with getting cheap flowers vs picking them yourself and designing it-

First of all, any florist that offers you a choice of flowers for one small price would make me nervous. How can you hold a lily and an orchid and say they are the same price? The orchid must be very cheap and small.

My suggestion is to go to the flower district or wherever you were going to get the wholesale flowers from and pick up a few, then go to Burtons or whoever and get a flower from them and hold them next to eachother. The difference in two identical red roses side by side is amazing, one can be half the size!

I will be more than happy to help you with this but your mom went to floral design so she should know too!

good luck!

ETA the smaller the flowers the less full your c-pieces will look and less expensive! lol

Well I did a search on here for past burtons brides and everything looks amazing to me. I would be concerned with centerpieces, but I am just getting bouquets. I dont want anything giant, just roses and maybe one other flower so I think I am willin to skimp on this. I dunno. Youre right though and Ill take my mom with me to check everything out since she is flower saavy
