Has anyone, printed a photograph on the transfer sheets you buy @ Staples? How did it come out?

Re: Help Re: Iron on Transfers
i'm in the process of doing that now and let me tell you that it's a pain cause you have to make sure the iron evenly covers the surface of the transfer at the right tempture but at the same time you have to keep the iron moving constantly so the fabric doesn't burn..
If you are only doing a few t-shirts or something then I say give it a shot but if you are looking to do something in mass quantity (like I very stupidly decided to do ) then I don't advise it.

I used to do them for FH. There pretty easy. I did so many. Just make sure it's evenly hot all over. And don't eave any pieces not done or else it will ruin the tee and design and you'll have to use another shirt.

Re: Help Re: Iron on Transfers
alright well since you girls do them all the time maybe you can give me some pointers cause the ones i've been doing doing come out even. I'm doing black letter on white material and it comes out all patchy.
It comes out better when I leave the iron on for longer but then the fabric burns.

Lower the heat settingon the iron then. You might have it to hot and try to move it around more.

Re: Help Re: Iron on Transfers
Is there any directions on the transfers? Sometime sit will tell you what kinda setting to put it on. Of course cotton is the hottest.

Re: Help Re: Iron on Transfers
no instuctions other than iron them onto the fabric.
I have it set on cotton cause the highest setting on the iron is actually linen and that just burned it in like seconds flat.
Maybe I'll try it again with the towel between and see what happens.
Thanks.

yeah try a thin towel or even a pillow case cause that thinner. And make sure you move it wround alot. It is one of the heat and peel or heat then cool and peel?

Re: Help Re: Iron on Transfers
I was letting my cool until they weren't hot anymore and then peeling off. They came out perfect.
I did a picture one for my brother, and it came out great. Everyone loved it!!

Re: Help Re: Iron on Transfers
If you take it off too early the transfer is still hot and sticks to the paper when you peel it off. If you let it cool then it all sticks to the shirt!
