This is my first posting, and I usually don't do this kind of thing, but what the heck....
I am getting married Sept. 2011, and we having started narrowing down reception halls.
We really loved Crest Hollow Country Club and Jericho Terrace. Crest Hollow has a beautiful outdoors area that I envision for a great outdoor cocktail hour. However the inside is nothing to write home about, kind of standard rooms. Also, I found a LOT of negative reviews, all of them with similar complaints...
Jericho Terrace is gorgeous on the inside, but it really doesn't have an outdoors area, just a little gazebo in the parking lot! I'm trying to be realistic, however, most of the wedding will be spend inside, and what if it rains? Will I be happy with Crest Hollow if I don't have that outdoor cocktail hour? I don't know....
Sooo, does anyone know of any other reception halls that may have both elements I'm looking for, in the same price range? (Besides Swan Club-fiance wasn't impressed with it, and Chateau Briand-it just wasn't us) I am from Westchester and fiance is from the Bronx, so we are not looking to go too far out on the Island.
Any suggestions will be welcome, thanks! : )

I second the SandCastle. It's beautiful - so if it rains you stay have a great location.

Re: HELP! Reception Hall Dilemma
Great, I'm going to check out the Sandcastle next weekend, I've also heard some good things about their new renovations. I thought my reception hall search was early, but it's crazy how Sept. 2011 dates are very quickly filling up!
I looked at the Surf Club, and it is extremely beautiful, but like the other places in New Rochelle, it's a bit pricey, so I'm trying to stay away from it since we really can't cut our guest list down much more.
Haha, yea I guess I'm one picky b*tch too! I did love how Jericho Terrace made you feel like you were outside in the middle of a piazza. Decisions, Decisions....
Thanks for all your help everyone!

Re: HELP! Reception Hall Dilemma
Sounds like my relationship. I'm from Throggs Neck - he's from New Ro.
BRONX The Marina Del Rey. It's on the water and has an outdoor gazebo.
Tosca just opened a new part of their resturant called the Mrqueee. It's not my style at all but they have a roof top garden. Maybe you can set that up as you cocktail hour.
Westchester-New Rochelle: these are all in a row. Maybe you can schedule them all on 1 day if possible. Greentree Surf Club VIP Beckwith Point
