I don't know what type of shoe would be best for an ivory lace dress. I cannot have my whole foot exposed because i had food surgery in november and I have a nasty scar on the top of my left foot. Any pics would be great.

Don't worry too much about what the shoe looks like, it doesn't really show much under the dress.
Get a shoe that is comfortable for you to wear. I wore a closed pump because that is what I am used to wearing.
Nude colored hose may also help to camouflage your scar a bit.

I am wearing an ivory lace dress and went with a closed toe shoe with a kitten heel. Just wear what you are comfortable in and don't worry about your scar. Your dress is probably long enough to cover it.

i wouldn't worry much about your scar showing---the dress will hide it and no one will be looking at your foot!
definitely go for comfort and see what works for you.

i actually havent had any shoe trouble....finding shoes for me is the least of my problems......i bought a nice pair of jimmy choos and they are 3 1/2 inches...
