I have not had a good nights sleep in over a week. Usually I'll sleep fine until like 3:00-3:30am...then I wake up and toss and turn for the rest of the night. This is seriously affecting my entire life...I'm cranky and I'm getting run down from the stress.
I tried taking benedryl before bed but it hasn't helped...I'm going to try to go to sleep at 10pm instead of 11pm. I've been told that Simply Sleep is very good, but I'm worried because my problem isn't falling asleep, its staying asleep.
Does anyone have ANY advice?? Has anyone gone through this before?? I'm at my wits end...if I don't get a good night of sleep soon I think I'm going to end up in the loony bin or the hospital. Thanks girls...

Re: HELP - Sleep related
-go to sleep earlier. sounds like you may be missing your ideal sleep window and your body is taking more of a 'nap' instead -make sure you pee before bed -make sure you're dressed temperature appropriately - not sure what's waking you up but if it's bc you're too hot/too cold, dress accordingly before you get in bed. -have Mike give you a POW right in the kisser. that will keep you asleep.
i'm sorry - i know how frustrating it is, believe me. hope this helps.

Re: HELP - Sleep related
Buy Melatonin 3mg. Its OTC. Your body naturally produces melatonin but sometimes it depletes, so supplementing with melatonin helps bring on restful sleep. If you need it long term, take a break of 1 week every 8 weeks so your natural melatonin levels can regulate.

Re: HELP - Sleep related
I used to take Simply Sleep when I was going through a rough time and my sleep was always broken up. It does help you stay asleep if you take the recommended dosage. I still take it now and then - maybe once every few months - and stick to either one pill or half a pill. (The dosage is two pills).
I also find that Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra tea helps me out.
Are you stressed about anything in particular? If you are, write it down or talk to Mike about it before you turn in...get it out there. It might be effing with your sleep. You started classes this past week; are you overly stressed about it? About wedding planning? Maybe you need to refine your regular routine in order to make sure you get things done on time?

LMAO...I think Mike is just about ready to give me a POW right in the kisser...I am an annoying piece of shiit when I don't sleep well
Thanks for the advice girls...I am definitely going to go out and buy some melatonin and simply sleep and try those out...keep the suggestions coming!! Mike is really wanting me to go to the doctor, but I'd like to exhaust (pun intended...which REALLY means I'm tired because...I don't pun) my options before I bring the MD into this. I don't want to go on Ambien and sleep eat my way into a size 10 or anything.

Re: HELP - Sleep related
Just an idea but maybe you should try to something to relieve all of your stress. I had this same thing happen when I was going through a really stressful/bad time and started to yoga right after I got home from work. Seemed to do the trick.

Re: HELP - Sleep related
I've gone though this my whole life. Sleep aids ****.. bc for me, they make me feel like I got hit by a truck when I wake up. Try going to bed at a earlier time each night and don't think about falling asleep or think about anything for that matter, because you won't fall asleep. Try to relax and don't drink anything with caffiene in it a few hours before.

Re: HELP - Sleep related
I agree about the Melatonin 3mg. I cut them in half and take one every night and it helps me stay asleep. Once in a while, I'll wake up in the middle of the night but I fall right back asleep!

Re: HELP - Sleep related
I had this problem while i was in school.......
Honeslty, going to bed early really helps and relaxes me.....During the week (dont laugh) I am usually in bed by 10, 1030ish.........if I am not in bed by then, I can guarantee I will get a bad nights sleep and be a cranky b!tch the next day.....try it out!! Try to go to bed tonight at 10 and I also heard that a warm glass of milk before bed (or a chamomile tea) can really rest and relax you body!

Re: HELP - Sleep related
my BM is currently having a similar problem ... she's been waking up at 3am every night for the past month. Rx sleep meds have not helped her at all. Recently, she was told that her brain is TRAINED to wake up at this point because you wake up and it's ok. Apparently, you're not supposed to stay laying in bed for more than 15 minutes.
She was told to get up and go to the living room to read a very very boring article or whatnot. Then go back to bed and try sleeping again.
