HELP!!!!! So confused

HELP!!!!! So confused

Today I was called for a second interview for a company that is located in Conneticut and it is 20 thousand more then I am getting now. This money will push me over the 60 thousand mark and the money will be great to help save for the wedding as well as save for the house.

Now my situation. I am not getting married until December and the job is 58 miles from my house. We unfortunately do not have the extra money to buy a house or rent in CT at this time because of the wedding. Now I am not sure if I should pass up the opportunity and make the wedding my priority or if I should go for it and take the risk off not having enough to pay for the wedding....

I hope this makes sense to everyone.....

Thank you for the advice

58 miles isn't bad - but commuting on LI is a b!tch But is it something you can do? Or maybe the company can compensate you for mileage... or maybe foot the bill for the ferry if it's close to your job. Just an idea.... but it sounds like a good opportunity for you. Good luck!

Can you commute? FH commutes about that far and it is not that bad.

I've done that commute and it's exhausting. But if it's more money and it's a job you can see yourself doing *after* the wedding, then you should probably consider it.

If this is a job you want and you can see yourself still doing it after the wedding then I say do it. If you are just doing it for the extra money then just stay where you are. The commute will be a pain but if it is something you really want then go for it!

wow! that is a dilemma.

If I were you, I would factor in the cost benefit ratio.

It's going to cost you a lot more for gas and a fortune in tolls.

I used to commute for an hour and half one way each day and although it sounds really bad, if its something you enjoy doing, your mind can sort of pull you through it whether it be with books on tape or coming up with more ideas for your wedding Its a hard adjustment at first but your body does it and after awhile, its like old hat. But its true, if you find yourself liking the job and thinking that its a great opportunity then the greater picture is your life outside of the wedding.......Good luck!

As important as it is, a wedding is just ONE day out of your life. Consider the long term and how the money could benefit your family for years to come. The commute will be a pain the butt, but it won't be forever. I'd tough it out. JMO.

I would think about the cost ratio as well, but if I were you, I would take it. Don't pass the opportunity up. I mean of course discuss it with your FH and also make sure it is something you can handle doing till you get married. I know money isn't everything, but your happiness is everything especially after your marriage. Hang in there and we all know you will do what is best for the both of you! Let us know how it goes and if you decide to go on the 2nd interview, GOOD LUCK!

I'd definitely take it. The wedding is only one day - think of how this would benefit your marriage.

GO FOR IT! It's true, as wonderful and exciting as a wedding is, it's only one day. If it's a job that you enjoy it will benefit your MARRIAGE. You can do that commute. You're body does get used to it. Let us know how it turns out.
