HELP!!! Sunday evening wedding!!???

So I booked a Sunday night wedding but now I am paniking. There were 2 times to chose from 4:30 and 6:30.
I picked 6.30, guests arrive 6, ceremony 6.30-7, cocktail hour 7-8pm and the reception 8-12pm. Now I am worried a lot of the older guest and local guests will leave early.

The other option was 4.30 wedding, guests arrive 4, ceremony 4.30-5pm, cocktail hour 5-6pm and reception 6-10pm.
The sun will just be setting and it will end at 10pm... which is way early (for me at least) but I am worried that guests will take off b/c of work the next day. It is in the summer though....

What do you ladies think??? I need to make a decision quick because he is sending me the contract and if I need to change anything I need to do it today..... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there anyway you can choose for it to start at 5? That way its right in the middle?

If not I say stick with 6. 12 really isn't crazy late and 10 for me would be way too early!

If you do the earlier one, you can always do an afterparty??

I went to a Sunday night wedding this weekend. It started at 5:30 and ended at 12. It was fun! I had off the next day s it was not a problem for me. BUt if you give people notice they can take off of work too! Don't stress...its your day the important guests will do what they need to in order to be there!

id say do the 4- i think that ending a wedding at 12 on a Sunday may be tough for a lot of the guests since most people work Mondays.

They originally told me the times were 5.30 and 7.30. So I chose the 5.30 which I thought was perfect. Then when I spoke to thim yesterday to send me the contract he said he made an err and the times were 4:30pm and 6:30pm. I was on the spot so I just said 6:30pm since 4;30 sounded too early. But I am afraid all of my older guests and local guests (which is about half of them will take off like and 1h-2 hrs early). At least my mom seems to think so. I dont know what to do. I personally want the later one but I dont want it to clear out that early either.

Although I am in the winter, we are having our wedding start at 3:30 (so everything will be over by 9). If you start it earlier, you might get a really nice sunset part way thru the reception, and people will probably stick around longer.

I'm getting married on a sunday and our cocktail starts at 6:30 and since we added the extra viennese hour the wedding will run until 12:30. I was worried at first but your close family will stay, youll have a few people leave early but to be honest with you, i went to a sat. night wedding this weekend and people left early also. Some people just leave early and some will stay til the end regardless of the night. Don't worry I'm sure it will be fine

I would stick with 6pm. No matter what time you schedule the party for there will always be some people that leave early and those that will stay until the end.

def earlier, sunday nights are hard to begin with . I would def leave before 12 if I was a guest. most people need to get up early for work. I am sure the people u really care about will take monday off and if thats all u care about then it doesnt matter have it whenever. The older people are going to leave early nomatter what usually

No, I think it is fine ... The only option I heard on Sunday was the 6:30 one anyway ... Anything else is like half day half night ... A little weird. Are you have a Viennese hour? I think 12 is fine to end ,how many older people are you having?

Me personally would do the earlier time. I went to a sunday wedding in the summer time and I loved that it started and end early.

Yea.. I feel like the older people will just leave early anyway (even if it's over at ten, you really can't help that.) If you can do it earlier, the I would do it and just plan something for afterwards (but you might be EXHAUSTED by the end of the night!!)

My CH is starting at 6:30 on a Sunday evening, I dont think it's a big deal, people that plan to leave early will leave early no matter what.

Re: HELP!!! Sunday evening wedding!!???

my wedding is on Sun but its on holiday weekend therefore i will start at 6:00pm.

I've been to Sun weddings at a regular week and you want to start on the early side...see if they can do 5:00pm?

Because guests do leave early. Most of the Sun weddings i've been to have been very early....like 2pm.

Hope it helps

Re: HELP!!! Sunday evening wedding!!???

I am doing a Sunday evening wedding too and we were thinking to do it around 4:30 so people did not have to drive home too late. We have a lot guests that live in the city.

Sunset is at around 8:02 in August ( we researched it) so 6:30 would also be beautiful. We were concerned with it being BLAZING hot and thought 6:30 would be better for that reason.

In the end, since the ceremony was only 30 minutes or so, we went with 4:30.

Hope this helps!
